There was some DL who said that a friend of his was paired with Eric Roberts to audition as a pair for ORDINARY PEOPLE. She and Eric got to the final two but Robert Redford decided he wanted Conrad to look like Mary Tyler Moore, not Donald Sutheland, and Timothy Hutton and Elizabeth McGovern were cast.

Timothy Hutton didn't look like MTM.

He was one of the recurring train wreck celebs Jenna Maroney would tell stories about in 30 Rock. (along with Mickey Rourke). A very special category to be in!

I remember a story from about 27 years ago where Eric Roberts walked onto a flight from LAX and Julia Roberts was already sat on board. She’d had her long curly hair cut off into this nasty short bleached style. Apparently Eric Roberts saw her, burst out laughing and said her hair look terrible. Julia Roberts then screamed at him and that was the beginning of their falling out.
