I have worked on Desperate Housewives (after my stint on Frasier, from 2006-12). It was so interesting to watch those people and their struggle for power. What an unhappy set. The main actresses (excluding Dana Delany who joined the one year after my arrival) were an extremely dismissive group of people, they rarely ever talked to guest stars , even some of the supporting regular players. But they were never publicly nasty to our faces. We had some difficulties with Nicollette Sheridan who was usually late and came in unprepared. But I appreciated her candor. She would often criticize the declining quality of our scripts amd she was right. Marc Cherry would constantly throw out some of our best ideas out of the window and replace them with a sitcomish scene. He sabotaged his own show, it was a parody of itself in those last two or three years. We were very aware of that. He would also throw out Nicollette's best scenes because of their personal differences. He would usually sing praises to the male part of the cast - especially James Denton and Ricardo Chavira.

I remember when Dana joined the cast in 2007 and the ladies came in for a table read and found her there. They were upset and jealous but kept it hidden. Dana was very happy for the opportunity she was given (this revived her career) and she was always above the constant bullshit. Btw Teri was not that awful, she is just an emotional perfectionist who'd gone through hell in her life, worked with her again last year on Matthew Perry's new sitcom, she seemed much better and relaxed. She was truly glad when the show went off the air and never even said goodbye to her female co-stars. She didn't even bother coming to the wrap party.

Funny thing - I felt very bad for Drea de Matteo during her season on the show, she was so shy and quiet, constantly smoking a cigarette outside or distancing herself from the cast. She was very uncomfortable all the time. Eva tried to take her under her wing and loosen her up for a while because she was a huge fan of hers from The Sopranos.

is it true that Dana Delany and Marcia Cross were friends? I guess it wasn't hard for Delany to see the others weren't happy she was there

R5, tell us about working with Matthew Perry.

Yes, Dana and Marcia were friends and they are still friendly but Dana's arrival was a well kept secret. Even Marcia was shocked to see her there. Marcia's friendship with Eva and Felicity seemed forced. I don't even know how to describe it properly (words like "fake" and "contrived" come to mind).

Another weird relationship - Eva and Nicollette. Nic assumed it was honest and real but Eva quickly dumped her when Nic got fired from the show. I missed Nicollette and her wicked sense of humor when she was gone. She used to tell it like it was and invited us to her house for a fabulous birthday party. Misunderstood woman with a tough childhood.

Matthew Perry is a nice guy, pleasant enough, professional but he is still getting his personal life together. But he is not as funny as he thinks he is.

To the Desperate Housewives person, what went wrong during the Alfre Woodard season on DH? It clearly seemed like they had a story, then it was clearly rewritten at some point, then eventually everything just came undone.

I came on board after season 2 but I know that Alfre's character was supposed to have her abusive husband in the attic. They changed it later on and added the idiotic Melanie Foster mystery. Alfre was constantly cut out of the episodes and there were too many stories going on at the same time. I know she was very disappointed with the whole DH experience and confronted Cherry and other producers. Her talent was absurdly wasted. And I know for sure that she never bonded with any of the actresses.

Things were different with Dana, Marc is one of her biggest fans and he kept her on the show for two more years. She was supposed to play a one season character at first but that season was affected by the writers' strike. She was always a true professional, came in before her call time, hit her marks, knew her lines. Never a problem with her and she was more than glad when we did that lesbian storyline. Classy woman and even more beautiful in person. She tried to fix me up with a friend of hers.

There is no interesting stuff about The Odd Couple. No divas on the set. My favorite member of the cast is definitely Yvette Nicole Brown, smart, cool and funny lady!

I have never heard a single person say a bad word about Yvette Nicole Brown. She must be the real deal.

New season of American Horror Story. . . Who's in it? Gaga? Main theme? Werewolves? Coven was my fav. Asylum close 2nd.

The theme for AHS season 6 was planned to be prison but I've heard they've changed it (again). Ryan has changed the concept at least three times now. I've heard its a disorganised shitshow and will probably be a mini series instead because everyone in the writers room is so lazy and shitty.

In season 1 of American Horror Story, Jessica Lange said in an interview that Murphy and the writers were often changing scripts at the last minute. I liked season 2 of AHS and it's still my favorite season. But the alien abduction storyline in that season was awful.

R130, disorganization is what happens when your showrunner has too many shows to run. Murphy's got AHS, Scream Queens, American Crime Story, and now Feud with his Lady Lange. She's probably got him bending over backwards and doing splits ensuring that this is a solid and seamless production worthy of hers and Sarandon's talents. When Lange was at AHS, she was pretty much Murphy's uncredited creative partner, who helped him come up with story ideas and probably honed in his crazy. Without her, he's probably an ADD mess. And Falchuk, he's probably too preoccupied with Goop to even mentally check in.

Ryan Murphy's notorious for mentally checking out after one or two seasons of his shows and looking for something new that exites him. That's probably why he's doing anthologies now.

There was gossip that Ashley Benson hooked up with one of Lucy Hale's exes and that it caused drama. Years ago when Pretty Little Liars started Benson cheated on a boyfriend and he called her out on twitter or tumblr on it.

Other gossip is that Bianca Lawson didn't get along with showrunner Marlene King and that's why her character was killed off.

It's probably for the best that Bianca was fired. Seeing her play a teenager was just really bizarre.

Fox blamed Melissa Benoist, Becca Tobin, Alex Newell, Jacob Artist & Blake Jenner for shit ratings and they were all called into Murphy's office late 2013 where they were all given pink slips and had the blame heaped on them. Melissa didn't take it well at all and got into a heated spat with Murphy. Ergo why she was the only one out of the five not present in the final episode. It was not due to filming commitments of Supergirl rather she was not asked backed and she didn't care.

Alex Newell was supposed to be the only one out of the five to still be retained in a recurring capacity as he was easy to write for and Murphy and Co still had a hard on for the transgenderd storyline. Chemistry castings were taking place before filming commenced on the shortened sixth season with Newell testing with male talent. Newell was abruptly dropped when Becca Tobin's boyfriend died and Ms Diva Lea insisted that Tobin needed to be working full time and be around 'friends.' Lea had no interest in Becca beforehand and suddenly she was attached to her like a siamese twin. It provided the perfect opportunity for Lea to milk her PR 'widow' title and painted her in a glorious light. All Lea had to do was ask Murphy and Newell was dumped and Newell's storylines heaped on Dot Marie Jones who they were already going to use and refused to employ both Tobin and Newell as they only wanted to employ one. Gotta save money.

There were doubts over who exactly fathered Heather Morris' baby. She fucked around a bit especially with the hired dancers. Nothing like Naya though who made sure she fucked for screen time. Lea, as you can imagine, hated this which led to many scrag fights. Though the crescendo occurred when they were filming the NY only episodes and the confrontation between the two led to a physical fight. Naya was fired. Her fanbase had kittens and Fox went into PR overdrive to smooth the cracks. Fox relented after the laughable audience reaction. Murphy did not want her back but had no say in the matter.

Melissa and Blake were already fucking by the filming of Blake's second episode. Melissa's boyfriend didn't find out until a couple of months later just like Blake's girlfriend.

When Chord left at the end of season two it wasn't about money or contracts. It was about the sexual pest Murphy who kept on sexually harassing him and wanted him do to more sex acts. Chord sucked off Murphy to get the role and Murphy did the same to Chord. Murphy wanted to take things further if he was to stay another season on Glee. Chord objected, left and was getting lawyered up. Fox freaked right out and to avoid lawsuits and embarrassments Chord was quickly re-hired without having to go near Murphy again with a juicy pay hike.

Holy shit at the Chord stuff! I hope things work out for Blake and Melissa with Supergirl. Don't really know who the others are except for Naya and Lea who is obviously an asshole.
