Only in response to the way she was grudgingly accepted into the Spanish royal family. Her two sisters-in-law regarded her as trash. Her mother-in-law was typical in that no woman was good enough for her son. Courtiers and nobility were aghast that a divorced journalist was marrying the heir to the throne.
