Just finished watching the new show "Lucifer"... about the Devil abandoning hell and taking up residence among us in Los Angeles...

by Anonymous | reply 315 | May 11, 2018 9:27 PM |
No. It has Rachael Harris in it. She is the devil in real life. Not gonna watch!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 26, 2016 2:13 AM |
The lead Tom Ellis is quite fey, or just British?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 26, 2016 2:16 AM |
I stumbled upon it and enjoyed it very much.....Tom Ellis is quite sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 26, 2016 2:18 AM |
He's sexy British.
But so much fun. It's been a while since a TV show has actually made me chuckle and even laugh out loud.
And I loved the music at the beginning.
Great pilot episode. Tightly written. Interesting premise and set-up. Thoroughly entertaining. I'm in.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 26, 2016 2:21 AM |
One of the secondary characters (the female cop's ex husband) is played by the same guy who played Lafayette's nurse boyfriend on "True Blood".
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 26, 2016 2:23 AM |
I liked it. I am sure Ted Cruz will denounce it tomorrow
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 26, 2016 2:25 AM |
It was OK. Reminded me a lot of the other supernatural procedurals like Forever. Lucifer was cheeky but a little too nice.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 26, 2016 4:23 AM |
It was freakin' hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 26, 2016 4:34 AM |
Don't le the pilot fool you, reviews say its just another buddy cop procedural.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 26, 2016 4:38 AM |
Yeah, well... if it's as well written and as funny as the pilot (which was basically a cop procedural so not at all misleading), I'm still in. It was a lot of fun.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 26, 2016 4:43 AM |
I want to watch it, what network?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 26, 2016 4:44 AM |
It's on FOX. Right after the X-Files.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 26, 2016 4:47 AM |
They leaked the pilot months ago.
Constantine without the crap.
Doesn't have legs.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 26, 2016 4:48 AM |
I can't agree with that interpretation, R13. Not at all.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 26, 2016 1:48 PM |
Count me in a another who really liked it. How were the ratings?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 26, 2016 3:25 PM |
Lauren German looks like a porn star now. The surgery and the botox make her look hot but nasty at the same time. I bet she gets knocked up by Ellis by season's end. The guy is sex on a stick and looks like he has a big thick fat penis. Either that or she blows him on set and they are not technically fucking.
The original Vertigo series was less trite than this. It seems even more compromised than Constantine was. Not as good as teh comics but it has promise.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 26, 2016 4:25 PM |
I've never read the comics so I don't give a damn if it "follows" them or not. Or is "true" to them or not. It's totally irrelevant. The show is just a ton of fun.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 26, 2016 5:01 PM |
It's got the procedural blues, a boring procedural snooze.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 26, 2016 5:04 PM |
There was nothing boring about it. It was fun and hilarious. That review doesn't know shit.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 26, 2016 5:23 PM |
I'll give it a shot on On Demand for Tom Ellis alone (I enjoyed him on "Miranda"), but right now I'm in the middle of "War & Peace" on A&E. Of course, if someone put Ellis and James Norton in the same show my heart would explode.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 26, 2016 5:27 PM |
I've DVR'ed it. Is the devil evil? I hope so.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 26, 2016 5:32 PM |
Are you people fucking high or are you just dickmatized by a hot lead? This show was a steaming turd. Satan leaves Hell to solve crimes?? It was GARBAGE. And Lauren German makes the least convincing cop since Bubba Smith in Police Academy. Even the softball critics didn't give it a pass.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 26, 2016 5:35 PM |
I wasn't going to watch but when i saw Kevin Alejandro's hot ass I knew I was hooked.

Dickmatized. I took my pants off. And what's wrong with it?

Link please, R23.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 26, 2016 5:44 PM |
The you should just watch Miranda instead. he's frequently shirtless and a lot more appealing than he is here (and Miranda is a better show.)
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 26, 2016 5:45 PM |
The devil is evil, but has a soft spot for little girls and other occasional folk who are in trouble. Yawn.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 26, 2016 6:00 PM |
Where is Miranda available in the US, R26? I just tried to access it via Chrome>hola>BBC iPlayer, which worked for London Spy, but it won't work today.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 26, 2016 6:12 PM |
I really enjoyed it too. Will keep watching.

Oh, fuck BBC America. They suck. I just reacquired cable and was shocked to see the bulk of their programming is now American movies.
If you have Hulu, all three seasons of Miranda (save for the last two specials) are there. Or you can find the whole thing on Dailymotion (though the quality is so-so, but watchable). If you don't have Hulu, you can always join for a free two weeks and binge Miranda.

You are very welcome. Where do you get Two and One? Actually, BBC America has started airing London Spy, so I've been DVR'ing it.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 26, 2016 6:37 PM |
I'm glad Lauren German is working again. WTF did Dick Wolf fire her and then hire her twin if not to get rid of the lesbian character?

Are you saying Chrome as in Google Chrome the browser or Chromecast the dongle?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 26, 2016 6:43 PM |
Google Chrome the Browser, R39. I am dongle-free (though dong-avec).
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 26, 2016 6:45 PM |
Thanks!
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 26, 2016 6:54 PM |
No, R36, you don't. Because the show was a ton of fun. Unlike you.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 26, 2016 6:55 PM |
R42 thinks this is the best satanic story since Little Nicky.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 26, 2016 7:02 PM |
No, "Little Nicky" sucked. Big-time.
This was fun. Do you remember what fun is? I'm guessing you're pissed off it isn't exactly like the comic book or some other "Comic Book Store Guy From The Simpsons" bullshit.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 26, 2016 7:05 PM |
I didn't even know it was initially a comic until after I watched it. It just plain sucked. And you have really terrible taste.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 26, 2016 7:10 PM |
R17 I do give a shit. The comic is far more witty, fun and brilliant than this is.It is very unique for that genre. This show is not. If it is going to be "solve the murder of the week" then it will be one of many. I think Ellis is good, this show does have potential. However going for the tried and true is a mistake. Warner Bros( who like DC and HBO is owned by Time Warner) should have put this on HBO. They watered down the concept and have made it a mediocrity.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 26, 2016 7:12 PM |
No, I think you have really terrible taste. And no sense of humor.
It had great music, great writing, great lines, snappy sarcasm, and love his reaction to the kids... the show was nearly perfect.
I have no fucking clue what you could possibly even complain about.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 26, 2016 7:12 PM |
On HBO we could have gotten some nudity.

How about the fact that you also think Ariana Grande is "amazeballs."

But keep making up shit.

by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 26, 2016 7:41 PM |
R53. It's a TV show.
Only tangentially based on a comic book.
Which of course infuriates the comic book purists.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 26, 2016 7:42 PM |

Tom Ellis fans hope he lasts longer as Lucifer than he did as that devilishly handsome concierge doc, William Rush.

Right, but we need to hear you parrot over and over that the people who didn't like it are just disgruntled asshole comic book readers, even when people have told you they don't read comics or didn't know the show was based on a comic. Yeah, but you're not wrong. Asshole.

No, I've only shit on this TV show and your appalling taste. And I'm about to start in on what a fucking easy mark you are, you bitch-titted whiner. Jesus Christ, but you're a pussy. That's only three things, so there's something else you're wrong about.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 26, 2016 9:35 PM |
R63 thinks he's responding to only one person. How cute.
The hilarity of someone going off on an irrational over-the-top rant about how wrong someone is... and doing it to the wrong person! :-)

I read this as you were addressing R66. Apologies if I misread. But also, I was saying that there were no other dissenting comments until yours (or that I thought was yours) so that it actually was, in fact, all the same person.
Anyway, the point is Lucifer sucked. >: )
by Anonymous | reply 70 | January 26, 2016 10:03 PM |

Not sure to whom you are talking, R72. No, R61 and R64 are not the same person. I still wish the haters would go away.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | January 26, 2016 10:06 PM |
The ratings were solid, but unspectacular, helped mostly from The X-Files, but the pundits are predicting a steep drop next week, as WOM is deadly. This will last about as long as Minority Report.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | January 26, 2016 10:15 PM |
WOM?
And R72, sorry, I should have explicitly directed that post at R68.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | January 26, 2016 10:19 PM |

I liked Lucifer. I loved Tom Ellis.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | January 26, 2016 10:27 PM |
It sucked
by Anonymous | reply 77 | January 26, 2016 10:30 PM |
Me too, R76. But I still don't know what "WOM" means.
All I know is that it's apparently deadly.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | January 26, 2016 10:32 PM |
I really liked it. Lucifer was yummy and so was the angel, I couldn't quite make out his name.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | January 26, 2016 10:35 PM |
Doesn't "WOM" stand for "word of mouth"?
by Anonymous | reply 80 | January 26, 2016 10:39 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 81 | January 26, 2016 11:14 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 82 | January 27, 2016 12:19 AM |
I watched based on DL recommendation and like it. I'll watch again, though I suspect it'll be tough to keep it out of the toilet.
Loved Lucifer's accent. And car.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | January 27, 2016 3:42 AM |
Lucifer translates to "bringer of light". I just looked it up, it also translates to "Morningstar", his last name in the show. Why doesn't everyone he meets say "Your parents really named you Lucifer? What was wrong with them?"
by Anonymous | reply 84 | January 27, 2016 3:48 AM |
It was alright. Nothing great.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | January 27, 2016 5:02 AM |
I loved the pilot, but it could go either way in the future. They had better not make him mortal or anything. But if it stays in the same vein as the pilot, it'll be great.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | January 27, 2016 4:02 PM |
I think Lucifer ought to be, deep down, an evil man. That's the point of using him as a character, isn't it? He seemed nice in the pilot. That's got to go.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | January 27, 2016 4:11 PM |
I just want him to get LOTS of therapy.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | January 27, 2016 4:28 PM |
No, R87. Didn't you get it? I LOVE how they're framing the devil as not "evil incarnate" ... but rather as what he really seems to be when you look more closely: Someone who wants to PUNISH those who are evil. It's a great spin on the character.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | January 27, 2016 4:33 PM |
I think there'll be lots of ironic punishments.

reply 82 is right. It's just Sleep Hollow all over again. It was a fun pilot, but it can't be an open-ended series. I'd watch, 4-6 of them, maybe.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | January 27, 2016 6:20 PM |
Well, I loved the first season of Sleepy Hollow. But yeah, after that it went to crap.
I'm fine if we only get one good season out of this. I mean, I *LOVED* Sleepy Hollow's first season, and I'm fine with LOVING this for one season. I just hope it doesn't go to shit earlier than that.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | January 28, 2016 5:12 AM |
I liked it.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | January 28, 2016 5:20 AM |
I lasted 15 minutes. Just not my thing (although Tom Ellis is my thing, which is why I gave it a try). I'd rather rewatch "Miranda" (although, sadly, they shaved his chest for that; still, less guyliner).
Much more my thing: London Spy and War & Peace.

COUNT ME OUT.
The trailer reveals it to be just straight porn.

Only 49 percent on Metacritic?
Sorry, there is a thousand GOOD shows to catch up on.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | January 28, 2016 7:01 PM |
It IS a good show. Probably too smart for most people (who don't "get" sarcasm, or who are too uptight about religion to get this spin on the character) to appreciate.
And Jerry Bruckheimer did "Cold Case" which was pretty good too (and had a great gay episode).
How about judging for yourself??
by Anonymous | reply 99 | January 28, 2016 7:03 PM |
Like I said, a thousand better-reviewed, more interesting shows are in-line before this Lucifer B.S.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | January 28, 2016 7:24 PM |
I don't give a damn about the reviews. They're wrong. This show was thoroughly fun and entertaining, and I loved it. At least I can say that about the Pilot. It might turn to crap in the very next episode, I don't know. All I can do is judge by what I've seen, and it was great.
Anyone who pans it based on that premiere is an idiot and an asshole whose opinion matters not one bit to me.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | January 28, 2016 7:26 PM |

Art, taste and opinion are subjective.

Wait, he goes back to fuck the therapist...go back!!!
by Anonymous | reply 108 | January 29, 2016 3:48 AM |
R107, the smug/arrogant attitude is the fun part. His comments and antics are hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | January 29, 2016 4:38 AM |
I like that the show leaves it ambiguous. You never know if he's really the devil or just a crazy man with schizophrenia.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | January 29, 2016 2:00 PM |
How is it ambiguous? He gets people to confess desires, he gets shot multiple times with no effect... it's clear he's the devil and not just some guy.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | January 29, 2016 2:17 PM |
If he's really the devil, why does he have so many wrinkles in his forehead?

by Anonymous | reply 113 | January 29, 2016 2:28 PM |
To whoever suggested "Miranda," I signed up for the Britshow service that provides it, but Miranda is like the British Lena Dunham, sans tattoos. I don't know if i can make it through multiple seasons of her "comedy." Not a show I would watch for a minute but for Tom Ellis.

by Anonymous | reply 119 | February 2, 2016 2:55 AM |
Yeah, that guy was HOT.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | February 2, 2016 2:56 AM |
r110, if you go to the part wher the sleazy producer shot the girl detective and Lucy thought he was dead and he was soooooo pissed off that he died without suffering, well when the starts coughing and Lucy sees he is not dead yet, he grabs him by the throat and lifts him up IN FRONT OF A MIRROR and then, for a very short time you see the "REAL" Lucy in the mirror reflection. So, yeah, can't be killed, has another dark angel tailing his ass, has a demon bartendress that likes to get head (that I found remarkable), and can levitate his sigel coin. I best liked the part where she said that he has balls and then he said that they were really quite ordinary. I really like how he truly enjoys making bad people suffer.
It has possibilities.
Hope it doesn't die the thousand deaths of bad writing like Constantine did.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | February 2, 2016 3:35 AM |
Tom Ellis is really hot, but making it into a boring procedural is a stupid idea.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | February 2, 2016 4:09 AM |

Lots of great moments. But a few really stupid ones too.
by Anonymous | reply 124 | February 2, 2016 4:32 AM |

Yes, he had a shirtless scene. And yes, there was an implication he had a three-way with a couple (male and female) and the guy in that couple was fucking HOT.

I'm totally in like with this show. Very entertaining.

Is it a biopic?
by Anonymous | reply 130 | February 2, 2016 6:45 PM |
I had to look up who Michael Welch is. He looks like he could be devilish... but we know Lucifer doesn't have a 'son', so I'll be interested in what kind of part he plays.

He was in bed with both a guy and a girl last night

There is no "REAL Lucifer," dipshit.

I like the therapist. I like the little girl.
I like Lucy, or is it Luci? (More like Lucci!)
by Anonymous | reply 135 | February 3, 2016 6:17 AM |
The show looks like it's going that way but I really hope it doesn't turn out that he's just crazy and not really the devil. That would be such a copout. That would be St. Elsewhere bad.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | February 3, 2016 11:32 AM |
Like his accent. And he is amusing. But I can see why he wears facial hair. Don't really think he's physically attractive (mouth, ears) but his character makes him so.
by Anonymous | reply 137 | February 3, 2016 12:47 PM |
Loving this show. I agree that it resembles Sleepy Hollow in some ways but I like that show as well.
Glad to see Tom Ellis in this. I was disappointed that Rush only lasted one season on USA. I thought it had a lot of potential. I agree with the poster upthread that said Miranda is like the British version of Girls. I couldn't stand the lead woman and could barely understand a word she said. I only watched the show for Tom.
I wonder if Lauren was killed off Chicago Fire because she was offered this show. She's getting a lot more screen time on this show than on CF.

I enjoy the scenes with the little girl where it's obvious that he doesn't have a clue about interacting with children.
Their visual portrayal of him as Satan is a bit disappointing. He comes across as just another CGI monster--nothing about him says Prince of Darkness.

My what an original theme. Reminds me of a story about the devil taking up residence in Moscow 1928.

So Luci it is. (and the Lucci was a tip to the OTT acting).
So far the writing sucks E1 and E2.
DB Woodside is a typical cast the black guy as the big heavy as Amenadiel. Pity they didn't make Amenadiel a beautiful succubus totally evil on the inside.
IMDB shows 13 episodes filmed.

[R141] As funny as telling the little girl to "go fetch" was it was even funnier when he asked if the command was too sophisticated for her. LOL

R144, the writing in episode 1 was awesome. Had me in stiches the entire time.

Will they give him some wacky neighbors and then call the show:
I LOVE LUCI???
by Anonymous | reply 152 | February 6, 2016 3:01 AM |
There is a lot of potential. It will depend on whether the writing is original or at least interesting or if it's just formulaic. Playing with Lucifer's inability to understand those who aren't motivated by pettiness and selfishness could be a good story. He's tired of ruling Hell and just isn't into it anymore. "Father" wants him to get back to work and he says no, which is consistent his story. He is prideful and intransigent and is not interested in following the plan.
I see this as potentially a story about Lucifer evolving and learning about the spectrum of human behavior and becoming more complex himself. That would at least make Hell more creative.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | February 7, 2016 12:09 AM |
It's base on a comic book. R153. Don't be expecting Dante.

by Anonymous | reply 165 | February 9, 2016 7:27 PM |
Right now it's too twee to be really witty. It's only as smart as a tv writer, and Lucifer should be a cut above that. The lead is certainly charming, it would be interesting to see him with better material.

by Anonymous | reply 172 | February 10, 2016 8:32 PM |
That’s Amenadiel, R172, portrayed by D. B. Woodside... one of the nastiest archangels you’ll ever see.
Back story:
Amenadiel was born a Seraphim, a being of pure light created by God and living at His holy service. A loyal follower and a powerful warrior, Amenadiel was also the leader of the Thrones, the angels of peace and submission, dedicated to the fulfillment of God’s plan and to the harmony of the entire creation. Despite his nature and his original vocation, however, Amenadiel wasn’t as peaceful and loving as he was meant to be since before the beginning of time; the rebellion of Lucifer Morningstar, once the wisest, most beautiful and powerful of all angels, had created something in his immortal soul that wasn’t supposed to be there: hatred.
Amenadiel despised Lucifer and everything he stood for, he considered him a living mockery to God Himself, and to everything His creation was meant to be. The increasing corruption of creation following Lucifer’s fall only increased Amenadiel’s grudge against him, and his only satisfaction came from seeing the powerful ex-archangel exiled for eternity into the Chaoplasm, the farest place existing from God’s love and mercy, a dimension that would have been known as Hell.
Much to Amenadiel’s indignation, however, Lucifer abandoned his place of exile and quit being the ruler of Hell, leaving his realm empty and unguarded (two of Amenadiel’s brothers, Duma and Remiel, took his place). What unsettled Amenadiel the most, however, was seeing that God didn’t do anything to prevent Lucifer’s umpteenth rebellion to His orders, and that He let him retire on Earth as if he deserved some sort of vacation.
Unable to understand, Amenadiel decided he would have personally amended God’s “mistake”, and started a personal war against the former Lightbringer, dedicating his entire existence to his annihilation. Only, he needed time and patience to elaborate a plan able to win against a creature so more cunning and powerful than he was.
At least that's how it goes in the comic...
by Anonymous | reply 173 | February 11, 2016 12:00 AM |
I think Amenadiel was just a character in the comics, R172. This show is very loosely based on those.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | February 11, 2016 12:10 AM |
Lol. Damn my phone. I did not see there was a reply already. Although I will add that it was mentioned in an interview that they are not going with the comic book version. A bit will be left out. Kind of like what Walking Dead is doing, going opposite of the comic books.

[quote]Interesting that this Lucifer now bleeds.
That what scares me about this show. We're on what, episode 5, and already the rules are changing. I'm tired of getting hooked on shows (Lost, Heroes, Person of Interest) that start out interesting are quickly buried by overly complicated plot twists.
by Anonymous | reply 192 | February 16, 2016 7:18 PM |
Well, at least it isn't the crap fest Constantine was...
by Anonymous | reply 193 | February 16, 2016 7:28 PM |
"Constantine" started out really rough (to the point of being bad), but in the last three episodes really found its footing, and was really going interesting places. Alas, it was canceled, so we'll never see how good it could have become. It sucks that they can't just move it to WB and let it be part of the Arrow/Flash/Legends-verse, in a Friday night time slot. It would totally play well there.
"Lucifer" on the other hand, is following the trajectory of Sleepy Hollow... it looks to have a great first season, but it's hard to see how they keep the magic going. Sleepy Hollow totally lost it and went from one of the best new shows on TV in season one, to being a complete crapfest. Like "Heroes" did before it. I'm betting "Lucifer" plays out the same way.

by Anonymous | reply 196 | February 16, 2016 7:49 PM |
Lucifer bled because Chloe shot him, not because he was shot. She's immune to his power. That's my guess, anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 197 | February 16, 2016 7:56 PM |
Interesting notion, R197.
I really don't like the "becoming more human" aspect though. The whole thing that makes Lucifer work is that he's unabashedly NOT "human".

by Anonymous | reply 203 | February 23, 2016 7:14 PM |
There's not much chemistry between Lucifer and the Cop, so it's tough to get invested in whether or not their relationship is going anywhere. The 20 seconds he had with the Cop's boss had more heat than the rest of the episode combined.
by Anonymous | reply 204 | February 23, 2016 7:23 PM |
Lucifer looks old. There's so much crow's feet around his eyes that the makeup can't hide. And what is wrong with his feet? They look like crow's feet.

I fear for the shrink now that Amenadiel has her in his sights.
by Anonymous | reply 206 | February 24, 2016 5:55 AM |
i absolutely loved the pilot, but sadly it's been downhill from there b/c my biggest pet peeve is people who don't take "no" for an answer, and that is exactly what lucifer has done in every single episode so far. he was funny and charming in the pilot, but now he's that entitled asshole who doubles his efforts b/c the one woman he wants doesn't want him.
by Anonymous | reply 207 | February 24, 2016 6:08 AM |
R207, the Lucifer of legend was the original template for entitled assholes. Him being an asshole and not taking responsibility is the point and it seems to be headed toward him eventually realizing all of that. Maybe that's what his father is expecting him to learn on his vacation to L.A. Because if his father didn't want him on Earth he wouldn't be, never mind Amenadiel's issues with it.

[QUOTE]Good episode last night! Anybody watch?
Yep, and I think it was the beginning of the end. Unable to leave well enough alone, we now have some mysterious person or persons who have stolen his wings, so now there's that bullshit subplot, and it will get bigger and more complicated with every episode until it buries the show.
by Anonymous | reply 212 | March 1, 2016 4:03 PM |
R212 well, at least now he has something to focus on instead of trying to figure out/bang the cop.
by Anonymous | reply 213 | March 1, 2016 7:04 PM |
Don't be stupid, R212. The stories about Lucifer himself are what make the show, not the boring, recycled police-work stories.
by Anonymous | reply 214 | March 1, 2016 8:55 PM |
Scenes for next weeks episode show Lucifer teaming up with Amenadiel to recover his wings. I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out.
Agree there's not much chemistry between Lucifer and Lady Cop.
by Anonymous | reply 215 | March 1, 2016 10:38 PM |
This was a good episode. The scenes with Maze and Chloe's husband were funny , and Lucifer's visit with Dr. Linda was intense. I don't have a problem at all with the theft of Lucifer's wings, which is far more interesting the usual COTW.
by Anonymous | reply 216 | March 1, 2016 10:54 PM |
Agree r216. Instead of crappy MOW stuff, we are finally getting back story that made the comics interesting. Lucifer getting Trixie to lie, was a no-no though. I like Maze. I like Amanadiel. It's the mortals that are insufferable. Except the therapist, she rocks. When she called him Samiel it was an awesome moment.
The crime of the week just got interesting. We now follow the wings.
by Anonymous | reply 217 | March 2, 2016 5:12 AM |
[quote]Don't be stupid, [R212]. The stories about Lucifer himself are what make the show, not the boring, recycled police-work stories.
Agreed. I wish they would get rid of the stupid case of the week and just focus on the Lucifer mythology. Grimm is unwatchable because it's just a stupid procedural, the same damn thing every single week. Teen Wolf does it right by staying away from the monster of the week and just focuses on the mythology.
by Anonymous | reply 218 | March 2, 2016 3:03 PM |
Off topic but the movie "Hellboy" with Ron Perlman is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. There's a reference to "Samiel" in that movie.
Off-off topic, the therapist on "Lucifer" played the Harvard grad placement person (have no idea what the title is, obviously) on the USA Network show "Suits." Every time I see her on "Lucifer," I keep thinking,"Sheila Zass!!" Poor Louis Litt!
by Anonymous | reply 219 | March 2, 2016 5:17 PM |
I can watch the last ten minutes of the last episode over and over and over again.
by Anonymous | reply 220 | March 3, 2016 3:26 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 221 | March 3, 2016 3:33 AM |
Emotional confrontation of biblical proportions.
by Anonymous | reply 222 | March 3, 2016 3:44 AM |
R220 The last ten minutes were fantastic. I'm glad we're getting a little more of the fantastical element and delving more into the mythology. I don't mind having a "case of the week" but they haven't been very compelling cases for the most part. Tom Ellis was amazing in those last few scenes, very powerful.
by Anonymous | reply 223 | March 3, 2016 3:46 AM |
I think that Maze is in line to become gay icon material. LOVE HER.
WHAT I DON"T LIKE:
Here we have one of god's most beautiful and perfect creations that goes all flashy red eyed satan when he is punishing people. Why can't he GLOW with the Light of the Morning Star and then damn people to DARKNESS away from god?
Haven't we gone New Age beyond a creepy devil to understand that damnation is being deprived of the presence of the divine?
by Anonymous | reply 224 | March 3, 2016 3:54 AM |
I just watched it. My goodness.
I wonder if Amenadiel is behind the theft of the wings. Maybe he is trying to prevent Lucifer from changing? Then again, what if not having his wings prevents him from going back to Hell.
by Anonymous | reply 225 | March 3, 2016 6:55 AM |
The thought of Lucifer using a cargo container to transport his wings is kinda ludicrous. He didn't station a demon to watch over them? Did he send them FOB to himself?
by Anonymous | reply 226 | March 3, 2016 6:58 AM |
Looks like an inside job. Who would know about that particular container and its hidden room? After all the shrink used the quote "You Don’t Know What You Have Until It’s Gone". Would it be too obvious for Amandiel and Maze to work together and set up a scheme for Lucifer to get all riled up and ready to go back to hell?
by Anonymous | reply 227 | March 3, 2016 8:00 AM |
R226 he wasn't transporting them, he was storing them. I gather he didn't expect anyone to look for them there.
by Anonymous | reply 228 | March 3, 2016 8:45 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 233 | March 8, 2016 12:40 PM |
The Lucifer plotlines are far more interesting than the 'case of the week' plotlines.
Last night's episode basically started a plot arc for the cop though... the "dirty cop" gambit. So now it'll take a while to root out who it is. It can't be the boyfriend based on the episode, though that would be the typical clichéd outcome. So now I wonder who it is. I'm guessing the dead cop's partner. Because always.
I guess that's an attempt to make the procedural part more interesting. But it'll never be more interesting than the Lucifer part.
by Anonymous | reply 234 | March 8, 2016 3:07 PM |
Is it just me or did they make it clear the boyfriend COULDN'T have been the evil cop last episode, but this episode they're making him into the evil cop....
Such a cliché.

by Anonymous | reply 246 | March 22, 2016 2:59 PM |
R245, if Lucifer dies, he goes back to hell, which is what Amendiel wants. But he can't commit murder, so....
by Anonymous | reply 247 | March 22, 2016 3:18 PM |
OP and Lucifer are worse than the Devil and Satan.
by Anonymous | reply 249 | March 22, 2016 7:44 PM |
kevin alejandro looked hotter on true blood, he just looks bloated in all his episodes here.
by Anonymous | reply 250 | March 23, 2016 10:57 PM |
Bloated is exactly what he looks like.
by Anonymous | reply 251 | March 23, 2016 11:07 PM |
Wow, I honestly didn't even notice that they'd swapped out Chloe's ex. I was too busy lusting after Lucifer.
by Anonymous | reply 252 | March 23, 2016 11:14 PM |
r252, then go back and rewatch the pilot and concentrate on Luci's manspreading when he is talking to Amenadiel. His legs, while mostly in the dark, cannot be spread wider...
by Anonymous | reply 253 | March 23, 2016 11:20 PM |
I don't recall Gonzalez. Alejandro is much hotter.
by Anonymous | reply 254 | March 23, 2016 11:49 PM |
If you do not recall one, how can you make a comparative, r254?
This is Nicholas Gonzalez, the guy they dumped.
by Anonymous | reply 255 | March 23, 2016 11:53 PM |
I know who he is, dumbass. I guess I needed to write "I don't recall [italic]the presence of Nicholas[/italic] Gonzalez [italic]in any episode of LUCIFER[/italic]" so that people of your IQ could follow along.
BTW, did you notice that Nicholas Gonzalez was only in the first episode of the second season of BOSCH? He must get fired a lot.
by Anonymous | reply 256 | March 23, 2016 11:59 PM |
Oh, and "comparison" works better than "comparative," dingleberry R255.
by Anonymous | reply 257 | March 24, 2016 12:00 AM |
Dear Cunt at 256, I cannot read you mind. You wrote,"I don't recall Gonzalez.". That is what I read.
Secondly, auto-correct is comparative. I wrote comparison, but you knew that because you can read minds r257.
by Anonymous | reply 258 | March 24, 2016 12:04 AM |
And Gonzalez is waaaay hotter than the dough boy that replaced him.
Funny, IMDB has removed Gonzalez from the pilot credits and credits dough boy for the pilot.
by Anonymous | reply 259 | March 24, 2016 3:42 AM |
Hint for learning-impaired R258: The thread title contains the name of the show, LUCIFER. Why in the name of fuck would it occur to me to repeat it?
You still use auto-correct? Dumbass.
by Anonymous | reply 260 | March 24, 2016 3:45 AM |
You didn't need to repeat the name of the show. You failed to recognize Gonzalez. Two different issues. You did not need to repeat it.
I have autocorrect enabled and remarkably, it rarely rears its ugly head. However, to make a comaprative (adjectival noun) seems to be a bit much for you.
Return to your tempest in a teapot. So tempesting.
by Anonymous | reply 261 | March 24, 2016 4:14 AM |
"Comaprative"? Autotune this time? And where do you get the idea I don't "recognize Gonzalez"? I've been "recognizing" him since RESURRECTION BOULEVARD.
You're such a fucking ninny. Retreat. Go home. Be stupid with those who love you (should such people exist). Type "fcuk" for your AutoCorrect.
by Anonymous | reply 262 | March 24, 2016 4:27 AM |
Now that r262 feels better, we can return to Lucifer.
by Anonymous | reply 263 | March 24, 2016 4:32 AM |
Ty the football player comes back next week. I can only hope it's so he can find comfort in Lucifer's arms.
by Anonymous | reply 264 | March 24, 2016 2:21 PM |
The football player was kinda pathetic. The beefy security guard, who when asked,"What do you desire", said YOU (Luci). Now HE could come back.
And why is it that the greatest fallen angel and keeper of the netherworld is SURPRISED at homosexuality. You would think Luci-M-star would ALWAYS have a handsome guy in the menage.
by Anonymous | reply 265 | March 25, 2016 1:21 AM |
cuz then it would be too gay *shock, gasp* oh no! can't have that, let's throw in some tits and ass, gotta get that pussy.
by Anonymous | reply 266 | March 25, 2016 1:40 AM |
When "Lucifer" is good, it's very very good. And when it is bad, it's terrible.
Last night's show had both extremes in it, imho.
by Anonymous | reply 267 | March 29, 2016 11:32 PM |
Good, kill Detective Douche.
Love Trixie and Maze.
Lucifer not taking advantage...oh, my.
Missed Amenadiel this week.
Luci, it appears that Pinocchio is gonna turn into a real boy...
by Anonymous | reply 268 | March 30, 2016 3:49 AM |
The best part of the show is how Lucifer and Maze are so completely clueless about interacting with children. Maze pouring the little girl a drink at the bar was the best scene in last week's episode.
by Anonymous | reply 269 | April 3, 2016 11:59 AM |
LOVED THAT!
by Anonymous | reply 270 | April 3, 2016 9:21 PM |
I'm a bit sad they're making Lucifer more and more human. Him being a supernatural bad bitch is a good thing. I understand the whole humanizing plot from the story point of view but I'd like to see Lucifer be really bad and not the pussy he is now. The only evil thing he does seems to be banging loads of girls which is just sad. The Devil probably wouldn't mind sucking a few dicks either.
by Anonymous | reply 271 | April 3, 2016 9:31 PM |
Hey east coast how'z it goin'?
by Anonymous | reply 272 | April 5, 2016 2:44 AM |
Why are they reshowing the Pilot tonight?
by Anonymous | reply 273 | April 5, 2016 2:47 AM |
NCAA Basketball Final, R273. No point wasting a new episode against that.
by Anonymous | reply 274 | April 5, 2016 3:02 AM |
Yeah, I had no idea why there was no new episode either.
by Anonymous | reply 275 | April 5, 2016 3:06 AM |
Hollywood Reporter just announced Lucifer renewed for second season.
by Anonymous | reply 276 | April 7, 2016 8:10 PM |
YAY!
Let's hope it does better in its sophomore year than "Sleepy Hollow" did.
by Anonymous | reply 277 | April 7, 2016 9:49 PM |
Shirtless Lucifer alert tonight!
by Anonymous | reply 278 | April 11, 2016 9:22 PM |
I called that when she shot him.
by Anonymous | reply 280 | April 12, 2016 4:03 AM |
Yes you did.
An interesting development.
by Anonymous | reply 281 | April 12, 2016 4:11 AM |
I wish they gave Michael Welch more to do in this episode, like maybe a post-coitus scene in bed with Lucifer.
by Anonymous | reply 282 | April 12, 2016 7:31 AM |
If anyone else had gotten naked in a pawn shop like that, they'd have been arrested (given the police were there).
Weird how they played that so blasé....
by Anonymous | reply 283 | April 12, 2016 2:18 PM |
Loved him singing.
Loved that Maze did the dirty with that other angel whose name I can never spell. I'm guessing Lucifer isn't the only one changing.
by Anonymous | reply 284 | April 12, 2016 10:54 PM |
Amen-adiel; Amenadiel.
by Anonymous | reply 285 | April 12, 2016 10:56 PM |
I'm disappointed that the irritating ex is still alive. I thought for sure he was going to be killed off.
by Anonymous | reply 286 | April 13, 2016 5:59 PM |
What was Maze waiting for, like the beginning of time to now, to fuck Amenadiel?
I think Luci will go and retrieve his coin now that he knows that the reanimated cop can't kill him.
Won't be pretty.
by Anonymous | reply 287 | April 17, 2016 9:28 PM |
What the fuck was #TeamLucifer about?
It is more than obvious that they have run out the special effects budget on the show.
We will never again see the wings with claws that Amenadiel brandished in the pilot.
Shit, it's bait and switch. What the fuck is this show about now?
by Anonymous | reply 288 | April 19, 2016 4:05 AM |
I loved tonight's show. Can't wait for the finale next week.
by Anonymous | reply 289 | April 19, 2016 4:20 AM |
OK, so it was a set up. Sheesh.
by Anonymous | reply 290 | April 19, 2016 4:37 AM |
Amendude has seriously crappy timing. I was waiting for Lucifer to kill Malcolm.
by Anonymous | reply 291 | April 20, 2016 12:31 AM |
Great setup for next week's finale. And probably the best episode since the premiere.
by Anonymous | reply 292 | April 20, 2016 3:51 AM |
Dopey. Tries to hard. Tiresome.
by Anonymous | reply 293 | April 20, 2016 4:50 AM |
R293 = Dopey. Doesn't know the difference between "to" and "too". Tiresome.
by Anonymous | reply 294 | April 20, 2016 4:51 AM |
You got me 294
by Anonymous | reply 295 | April 20, 2016 4:52 AM |
So Malcolm goes to Hell, Maze uses the divine feather to heal Amenadiel, Lucifer goes back to Hell and discovers that MOM has escaped?
And Dad wants her back there?
Was the writer of the comic book Lucifer a MORMON by any chance?
by Anonymous | reply 296 | April 26, 2016 5:11 AM |
I really love this show.
I really hope it doesn't pull a Heroes/Sleepy-Hollow though. I want it to have a GOOD second season.
by Anonymous | reply 297 | April 26, 2016 5:42 AM |
My biggest complaint is that at some point they need to establish that Satan can be a real son of a bitch, not just keep falling back on the eye flash and the occasional red monster head bullshit. He needs to rip out and eat a still beating heart or light a nun on fire, or something. Even that "what is your deepest desire" routine is one step above a Toyota salesman asking "what do I need to do to put you in this Prius today?"
by Anonymous | reply 298 | April 26, 2016 2:10 PM |
So, in an interview with the creators, apparently Maze not being around at the end is significant. Apparently a demon cannot heal an angel without there being... consequences.
Also, the whole "Mum" escaped hell thing is original to the show and not in the comics. MUCH of this season has been based in the comics, but they're going to be breaking new ground in season 2.
And R298, part of the POINT of the show is that most people's assumptions of who and what the devil is, are wrong. He isn't evil. He PUNISHES evil. So no, he's not about to rip out and eat a still beating heart, let alone light a nun on fire.
by Anonymous | reply 299 | April 26, 2016 6:33 PM |
I'm not completely sure but I don't think Lucifer has ever been called "Satan" on the show, making me think that Satan is completely different character for this "universe." The Old Testament Satan is more of a prosecuting attorney (in the book of Job) who basically accuses mankind as not being worthy of God's love. In the New Testament, he tempts Jesus into proving that he is the son of God when Jesus is out on his forty-day cleanse in the wilderness. Lucifer's main "crime" was refusing to bow down to man and serve him.
So, who else thinks that "mom" is named "Lilith"?
by Anonymous | reply 300 | April 26, 2016 7:24 PM |
R300, given the lore surrounding Lilith, I'd say it's a certainty.
R298, the show isn't about Lucifer being a "bad-ass", exactly the opposite really.
by Anonymous | reply 301 | April 26, 2016 7:31 PM |
Great first season, imho.
Looking forward to season two!
by Anonymous | reply 302 | April 28, 2016 3:56 PM |
R300 lol i was just about to ask who the hell "mum" could be, but lilith makes a lot of sense.
by Anonymous | reply 303 | April 28, 2016 11:24 PM |
So, this is the first week without Lucifer.
When did stations adopt the abbreviated English half season?
by Anonymous | reply 304 | May 3, 2016 1:37 AM |
R304, it was a mid-season replacement. Half-seasons are typical for those.
by Anonymous | reply 305 | May 3, 2016 2:21 AM |
Woa, I just finished complaining about the shitty writing and it turns out one of the main writers is Neil Gaiman.
Neil Fucking Gaiman who has written for Doctor Who.
He wrote The Doctor's Wife which is one of the most amazing episodes.
Neil works better in an alternate universe. The fantastic other world.
I bet the word PALMETTO gives him ass cramps.
by Anonymous | reply 306 | June 6, 2016 8:00 PM |
Season 2 Comic-Con trailer. New stuff starts after 90 seconds.
by Anonymous | reply 307 | July 25, 2016 2:17 PM |
If Mum isn't Lilith, then the Gnostic Sophia is an option, though I think that would go over the heads of most of the audience.
by Anonymous | reply 308 | July 25, 2016 8:52 PM |
You can see at IMDb who's playing the mom.
by Anonymous | reply 309 | July 25, 2016 8:58 PM |
not enough nudity this episode. but, damn can Tom rock a song.
by Anonymous | reply 311 | September 20, 2016 1:50 PM |
So glad this show is back. Tom could sit there and read from the phone book and I'd listen. I adore his accent.
by Anonymous | reply 312 | September 21, 2016 12:22 AM |
I can’t believe they cancelled this! What is fox thinking? The Mick, Lucifer, The Exorcist, Last Man on Earth.
by Anonymous | reply 314 | May 11, 2018 9:18 PM |
r314 I came across some discussion about how garbage it has become in this more recent thread so this doesn't surprise me.
Now excuse me while I go bawl my eyes out in The Exorcist thread...
