Who remembers this hunk from the early 90s? As a gayling I used to beat off to him in Chasers so much I wore out the VHS tape.
Yummy.

He looked like a better-looking Matt Damon. Similar look, except McNamara had classic handsome features and Damon always resembled an overgrown dwarf to me, i.e. a large head with a prominent forehead.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 22, 2015 12:24 AM |
He was memorably creepy in Copy Cat. Should have had a bigger career.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 22, 2015 12:25 AM |
He played a closeted gay guy in "Doing Time on Maple Drive" and was great in it... I was nearly the same age, in nearly the same situation, and really really identified with him (only I wasnt' hot, and didn't get a boyfriend in college as quickly as his character did... no happy ending for me).
I totally crushed on him hard for YEARS.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 22, 2015 12:26 AM |
He looked like a 90s porn star but I can't put my finger on who. Any suggestions?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 22, 2015 12:30 AM |
He played Montgomery Clift in that Sherilyn Fenn Elizabeth Taylor biopic. Then his looks hit the wall.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 22, 2015 12:31 AM |
Billy McNamara was hot as fuckin' shit.
He did not age well.
Remember him as a tortured homosexual in Doing Time on Maple Drive? That was hot.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 22, 2015 12:33 AM |
Yeah, he was a cutie. Loved him in ...Maple Drive and Chasers. He was engaged to his busty Chasers co-star, Erica Eliniak, for a time.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 22, 2015 12:35 AM |
R8, I'd like you to meet R5.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 22, 2015 12:39 AM |
I saw him on some reality series, all about his life in his Malibu house (this was a few years ago). He came across as a total pussy-obsessed obnoxious straight guy, who thought his fame, such as it was, gave him access to any fresh hot twat he wanted. It made him look like an idiot.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 22, 2015 12:41 AM |
That was a lot of skin for a 90's movie or am i wrong?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 22, 2015 12:45 AM |
A friend of mine dated him around the time he filmed, "Stealing Home."
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 22, 2015 12:47 AM |
R11 guys like that turn me the fuck on. Pussy obsessed hot young straight guys are the best.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 22, 2015 1:12 AM |
I would like to have suckled on Billy McNamara's plump red bottom lip circa 1994. Shit, he was hot.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 22, 2015 1:18 AM |
Yeesh. This seems more than just aging, no? TONS of other 50 year olds still look good.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 22, 2015 1:47 AM |
Ugh kill it with fire. The fucked happened to him??
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 22, 2015 1:50 AM |
He still looked good when he was in the movie THE BRYLCREEM BOYS with Gabriel Byrne and Billy Campbell.
Delightful little film. Check it out.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 22, 2015 1:57 AM |
Holy shit, he looks TERRIBLE!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 22, 2015 1:57 AM |
Is that from having work done that settles oddly as you age? It looks like his face got kind of beat up.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 22, 2015 1:57 AM |
Oh my God! I'M CURRENTLY BETTER LOOKING THAN BILLY MCNAMARA!!
Crazy. He needs to go away somewhere. Jesus Christ.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 22, 2015 1:59 AM |
Yes totally hot and lickable in the 90s then his career dried up. Man he is looking rough nowadays.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 22, 2015 2:30 AM |
OMG He just turned 50 at the end of March..............he looks horrible.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 22, 2015 2:35 AM |
Drugs.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 22, 2015 2:43 AM |
The first (older) pic looks like had fillers. Yuck.
He was so hot back in the day.. That scene where he is fucking the girl on the couch as her parents are in the other room was silly but he sold it - and he was adorable and sexy in it. And to think Jodie Foster got to make out with him in that movie...
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 22, 2015 2:44 AM |
It's not that he looks horrible, it's that he looks horrible and not even himself.
Can you imagine?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 22, 2015 2:48 AM |
drugs? regret? envy? bitterness?
Maybe he's just one of those guys who peaks from age 18-25 and then its all downhill. 50 is a long way from 25.

Was your friend male or female? R11 makes him sound like a total het but I'm just checking.

R12 bitch, please! There was more nudity/sex in teen comedies in the '70s, '80s, and even '90s than there are now. If 1999's AMERICAN PIE were released today, all the nudity and sexual references would be muted in order to get a PG-13 rating. We became more prudish as a society post-9/11. Even the 1993 Disney film HOCUS POCUS (rated PG) whose premise was the main character's virginity and how awful it was that he was still a virgin at age 15 would not pass today.
You may have more outlets and chances to see naked boys (i.e. internet), but your movies are very tame by comparison.

No. They obliterated each other like matter and anti-matter.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 22, 2015 5:26 AM |
damn he was so beautiful...all he had to do to maintain it and grow into a beautiful middle aged man was to stay thin and moisturize.

R6 - Johann Paulik?

I don't know any of his other work, but yes, his acting in that movie was excellent, aside from how gorgeous he was in it.

Speaking of not aging well, any current pictures of twink porn boy, Sammy Case? I've heard his before and after pics are quite shocking - in a bad way.

I'm almost afraid to see. I remember reading that he left the business because he was HIV positive. But that's always the rumor when porn stars leave the biz.

R33 I did not even know teen comedies existed in the 70's and 80's, can you recommend some to me?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 22, 2015 6:24 AM |
R42 ANIMAL HOUSE (1978), FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH (1982), PORKY'S (1981). THE LAST AMERICAN VIRGIN (1982), REVENGE OF THE NERDS (1984), HOT DOG... THE MOVIE (1984), SCREWBALLS (19883), PRIVATE RESORT (1985), SPRING BREAK (1983).
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 22, 2015 6:42 AM |
Thank you R43. Some of those titles sound promising.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 22, 2015 6:47 AM |
Don't forget Porky's 2!! Horrible movie, but tons of male nudity.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 22, 2015 7:01 AM |
R37, I think R6 may be thinking of David Burrell:
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 22, 2015 7:02 AM |
R48 compare that to R18 and it looks like completely different person. Now he looks like he was in a horrible boxing match.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 22, 2015 7:06 AM |
The most disappointing thibk about Maple Drive was that his BF was not cute. Kind of ruined the fantasy for a gayling. And Jim Carey's performance was OTT.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | July 22, 2015 7:33 AM |
There are plenty of former pretty boys who've hit 50+ and still look good -- Brad Pitt, Rob Lowe, John Stamos, Tim Daly, Billy Campbell, etc. But William McNamara looks like he's been boozing it up under the harsh sun in between getting his face punched repeatedly. What's his story?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | July 22, 2015 7:40 AM |
He's heading into Mickey Rourke territory. Pretty boys don't always age well but his current face goes beyond natural aging.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 22, 2015 10:19 AM |
i think he was in the movie doing time on maple drive that might be considered a cult classic in some circles like the little shop of horrors is a cultclassic too. glad i could help
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 22, 2015 11:36 AM |
OUCH! R18 You could've warned us.
He looks old enough to be my father. And I'm 3 years OLDER than him!!!
He looks like a train ran over him several times.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 22, 2015 11:59 AM |
Where can I see Maple Drive? Can I rent it at the public library. Is it on that tube viewer? Is Constance Ford in it?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | July 22, 2015 12:51 PM |
He was definitely the icon for every gay boy of a certain age after Maple Drive and appearing in tighty whities. He aged pretty horribly though.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | July 22, 2015 1:07 PM |
R43 mentioned The Last American Virgin (1982) which is worth seeing as the best-known film of Steve Antin.
Antin was a minor actor but a major player in gay Hollywood, an ex lover of Geffen, among others. He was cute for a while but now, at 57, looks like the older brother of Bryan Singer.
You may have heard of his siblings. Sister Robin founded the Pussycat Dolls and his brother Jonathan was the super-queeny, straight (!?) hairdresser from Bravo's Blow Out.

From his Wiki bio I see he has never married. Can't find the right woman? Too busy with his career?
by Anonymous | reply 60 | September 14, 2020 12:40 AM |
Loved him but to me he always looked stoned out of his mind.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | September 14, 2020 1:18 AM |
If he were to die tomorrow, would he have had a big enough career to be included in the "In Memorium" segment at next year's Oscars?
