What's the most controversial topic on DL? What's the most popular?

I suspect the answer to both are so-called Jello "salads".

by Anonymousreply 42April 15, 2020 5:18 AM

That's up there, OP, but the topic of straight guys willing to have the homosex has tee ability to set the place on fire. That and breadbox v. Refrigerator.

Meryl or Glenn - Who should do the next Gypsy revival?

by Anonymousreply 8June 16, 2015 6:08 PM

Most popular...recipes, cook/dinnerwares, theatre/theater, anyone's misfortune.

Most controversial....politics, race, abortion, who's hot and who's not, any kind of grammatical error or typo (which could also be considered popular depending on whether 1 person is pointing the error(s) out or 20+ are).

[quote]but the topic of straight guys willing to have the homosex has tee ability to set the place on fire

Yeah this is a big one, the two sides will never be able to see eye to eye.

[quote]What's the most popular?

In terms of most popular. Anything about Fraus and their children being entitled and demanding is DL catnip

R2, your last item is priceless! I could've used some advice on removing it from carpet not too long ago.

by Anonymousreply 11June 16, 2015 6:16 PM

Dollar store carpet cleaner, people! Got curry stains out of my trousers, shirts, etc. as though they were never there!

Whether or not you have the right to recline your airIine seat? (Yes, that's why they recline.)

Should you ask permission from the person behind you first? (No, it's not up for a vote, and Christ almighty!)

Does it depend on the length of the flight? (Some people cite this as important, but I think it Is ridiculous to expect others to confirm to any one person's subjective opinion as to what constitutes a "long enough flight" to rationalize that it's 'Ok" to recline the seat). So, no, it doesn't matter about the flight length. As long as you un-recline during takeoffs and landings.

How about at meal time? I can eat perfectly fine with the seat reclined in front of me; though I will reset my seat for this reason alone, in case the person behind me is a fussbudget.

Does anyone remember the knock down/drag out over window screens?

Most Popular- Tranny Madness.

Most Controversial- Tranny Madness.

It's Canadians and UK people who are viscerally disturbed by window screens. But I have a feeling some of them are thinking about window security gates like these

One of the most beloved threads ever had this topic:

"What was the very first thing each of your parents said when you told them that you were gay?"

I only see window security covers like the ones linked in R19 in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx, which are urban. I never see them in the suburbs, since suburbs don't need security window covers. There isn't as much breaking or entering in suburbs as there are in cities and in very low income rural areas.

Nothing like trying to eat your dinner on a 12" x 6" tray and having the person in front of you suddenly decide to recline. You end up with microwave dinner in your lap.

by Anonymousreply 25June 16, 2015 7:40 PM

I missed the window screens thread. Was it mostly yay or nay?

by Anonymousreply 26June 16, 2015 7:45 PM

Bump. Don't just concentrate on the negative.

by Anonymousreply 27June 16, 2015 10:56 PM

Most controversial and pervasive may have been Obama v Hillary way back when. Posters would resort drive-bys on unrelated threads with their screed.
