One of my favorite crushes.

Hot, yes. But OH MY GOD what a lousy actor. They brought him on to As The World Turns in the late 90s, and he was horrific. Like Ronn Moss or Pete from Days of Our Lives level of lousy. They yanked him after only a few days on air, if I recall correctly.

While the body is great for a 45 y/o guy there is a reason why no face shots. Not saying MS is not still handsome, but just that time has done what it does to us all in the end.

IIRC MS is Indonesian/Dutch. His parents moved to Sweden before he and his brother were born.

Like a few other "supermodels" of that era MS owned a brownstone in the Village (NYC) IIRC between 6th and Fifth, but probably has sold and made a good killing.

In his day Marcus Schenkenberg's body was something in the modeling world. Today there are scores of not hundreds of male models if not just young men who are rocking serious bodies.

IIRC he has tried or whatever several ventures including a jewelry line, but don't think they have been much of a success.

Looked up the remaining "CK" model we rarely hear from today but was hot back then, Joel West. He has some sort of design/contractor show on HGTV called "Designing On a Dime" or some such.

"Design on a Dime" sadly perished just like all the other decorating shows when HGTV turned into the Property Brothers network, so Joel West is no longer on tv, but he may be self employed working as a carpenter/contractor in CA. Unlike some of the other eye candy carpenters that have appeared on HGTV, West actually had some skill.

In regards to Schenkenberg there was a blind item from June 2009 that said he is basically reduced to making appearances at nightclubs these day. Seems pretty sad, but the fashion industry is notoriously capricious; one day you're in, the next day you're out.

MS was and still basically a "Himbo". The guy had nothing upstairs and was really only famous for his body and looks. You'd have thought he'd use some of his money to attend college and or otherwise prepare for the day when he wouldn't be the hottest thing in shoe leather.

IIRC the "fashion industry" got together after the supermodel era and decided never again would they call the shots. Yes, many top girls and guys still make very good money, but days of Linda Evangelista saying "We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day." are over.

The fashion industry isn't "capricious" in this sense. MS is a middle-aged man in a youth driven business. You can sit in the lobby of certain buildings in Mid-Town NYC and watch a parade of young, good looking and buffed men arrive with books going to "go-see" appointments. Gorgeous young male models with hot bodies are a dime a dozen today.
