Anyone watching this show? Fucking hilarious.
Broad City

I love it! I've PVR'd the episodes and laughed waayyy too much watching them just now. I don't know if I'm delirious because of a lack of sleep, but i think this could be one of my favorite shows! It's the kind of show that would mock Lens Dunham and her whole "Girls" world. The stars are also not as unattractive as Lens.
There was an appearance by Rachel Dratch (bless her friends for always giving her roles), but I've found that the 2 actresses could probably carry the show themselves, without huge celebrity guess stars. ("New Girl", I'm looking at you!)

what channel?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 6, 2014 10:32 AM |
It's on Comedy Central Wednesday nights at 10:30. It started out a few years ago with webisodes on YouTube and is now a 30 minute show on tv.

Everyone seems to hate it. Ilana Glazer has a kroll whore brother named Elliot Glazer. He writes up fake press for Tig Notaro, Nick Kroll, and a few others for New York Magazine's "Vulture" column. I doubt the show is any good and this is likely some sad PR attempt.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 6, 2014 10:15 PM |
Is there any thread that's safe from the unhinged Tig Notaro troll??!!
This is why we can't have pretty things.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 6, 2014 10:19 PM |
What is Tig Notaro? It sounds like some variation of an epileptic seizure. Quick, shove your wallet in her mouth, she's having a Tig Notaro!

Ugh. Another show about poor people living in a city they can't afford, trying to live a life they can't afford.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 7, 2014 7:07 PM |
Bump for tonight's episode.
10:30pm on Comedy Central.

Anyone see this?

Who the fuck is everyone? Your two and Half men watching bridge club buddies?
Best new show of the year!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 13, 2014 4:37 PM |
I completely love it, so smart and fucking funny. Probably my favorite show at the moment.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 14, 2014 8:33 AM |
What's it about?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 14, 2014 10:21 AM |
I enjoyed watching it, just marathoned the five short eps. I like the actresses and writing more than 2 Broke Girls. It's not hysterical, sometimes corny, but overall, funny and promising.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 27, 2014 6:08 AM |
It's hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 27, 2014 8:37 AM |
Thanks DL! Will be checking this out somewhere, somehow.

Another funny one this week. "I'm picking all white guys right now -- I must be craving pink dick."
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 1, 2014 9:36 PM |
It's hilarious. R4 is some deranged cunt with a thing against Nick Kroll (who is also hilarious).
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 1, 2014 9:42 PM |
Show is hilarious. Started as a web series by two members of the Upright Citizens Brigade theater. Amy Poehler helped them bring it to Comedy Central and executive produces the show.
Each episode looks at a day in their live. One cleans a health gym while dreaming of being a trainer, while the other works temp jobs while looking for a good time. This show puts Girls to shame.

After this latest episode, I'm sure theyre gonna make Ilana's character bisexual.
They've been dropping hints all season. She also seems to be in love with Abbi. I don't think they're ever gonna put them together, but I could see them making it a running joke with the show, and just have Ilana always compare everyone she dates to Abbi.
I mean, Ilana said her favorite thing in life was Rihanna's instagram, and earlier suggested they do "Oprah hands" while they both get simultaneous cunnilingus (still makes me LOL!).

Best show on the air. This weeks episode with Amy Sedaris was hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 22, 2014 5:17 AM |
Agreed, R20. It's one of my favorites now.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 22, 2014 5:21 AM |
The show reminds me of my post college days. It so clever and dialog that I've never heard on tv before. My wife and I laugh histerically and always rewind. I watched because of this thread! So thanks bitches!

I read some Onion AV club reviews and comments and excitedly started watching it.
It is funny, but not quite as great as it was hyped up to be.

As a 20-something who really can't get into Girls (I know, our generation is the worst, I'm sorry), I find Broad City to be a breath of fresh air. Unpretentious and doesn't feel forced. Love it.

I'm so fucking excited for the new season.

Hilarious. God, I love Lincoln. Hannibal Burress, who's had him?

I just binged this show today and the bit with the curtain rod in the subway made me die. So fucking great.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 16, 2015 4:47 AM |
Yes, caught on to it via Onion AV club. It is really awesome and really funny.
I love how in the latest episode (Hashtag/FOMO) there's several call backs - Garol appears, and we find out why in season 1, someone screamed out "Val!?" to Abbie o the subway.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 16, 2015 5:37 AM |
So glad they have brought pegging back to the front of the American psyche.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 22, 2015 4:48 PM |
I just started watching this on Amazon Prime and because they auto play the next episode I ended up binge watching the whole thing. I didn't want to like it but it won me over with some laugh out loud moments. It's just like Girls except it's a comedy. They make fun of the same things Girls makes fun of. It feels like they're all going after the same targets. I don't like how they're pot smokers and drug buyers though since I can't relate.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 26, 2015 5:37 AM |
It's excellent, one of the best comedies on television right now.
Most DLers won't get it, though.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 26, 2015 8:39 AM |
Best show on TV.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 26, 2015 8:45 AM |
I've been watching online at Comedy Central, I've been watching about 2 episodes a night just to catch up so I can start taping it regularly. It's one of the craziest shows that has ever been on TV. I don't think I've EVER seen TV characters as wild and insane and jacked up like Abi and ESPECIALLY Ilana - that girl will do ANYTHING WITH ANYBODY. I love how she has this not so hidden attraction to Abi and is always trying to feel her up or something. All the regular characters are nuts, the disgusting fat dude who they can't get out of the apartment, Abi's inconsiderate, narcissist boss at the gym, and the black dentist who is as weird as Ilana (where GIRLS ignored black folks, Broad City can't get enough of them). I love how they film the show in parts of NYC that you don't see as much on TV too. I love this bizarre show and hope it's doing well in the ratings.

They're funny but I wish they were skinnier
by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 26, 2015 10:11 AM |
It's because of people like R34 that we don't usually get shows as original and entertaining as this, or opportunities for actresses as talented and funny as Abbi and Ilana.
I'm sure you just love Julie Bowen and all the rest of the anorexic bottle blondes whose comedic hook is that they're a "klutz"
by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 26, 2015 10:29 AM |
Yes, they must love all the conventional cookie cutter Julie Bowens and Constance Wus but not give these fat Jewesses a chance.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 26, 2015 12:56 PM |
R31 is correct.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 26, 2015 7:10 PM |
Since the beginning of this new season,..I would have to say that only one episode has been a standout. The dildo episode. The others have suffered from mediocre writing. Its been a very disappointing season so far.

This show is so good. I binge watched it in one day. Fuck girls, that show truly sucks this season and this is my guilty pleasure. I just love this show. I love their sense of humor. I love how accepting they are of all the people they come across and their friends. I actually feel this show has a very positive message and puts me in a happy state after I have seen it. Usually I would find someone like ilayna incredibly annoying and obnoxious. But I actual find her very like able and genuine, she's just being herself and is comfortable in that, that's the key to a happy life. I actually feel like I learn life lessons from these bitches. I hope this show stays fresh for however long it runs. I hope it doesn't keep going after it's no longer inspired, like girls

R34 is an awful person.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 3, 2015 5:21 AM |
This season, with a couple of exceptions, has been stellar. The FOMO, diddo and Ilana's Mom (Susie Essman!) eps were hilarious. But this week's with Kelly Ripa had me rolling. Love this show!
by Anonymous | reply 44 | March 17, 2015 5:43 PM |
I agree with R41. The characters are all so genuine with the exception of a few necessary foils like Ilyana's coworker Nicole and Abbi's neighbor, and you have to love even their neuroses.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | March 17, 2015 5:52 PM |
It's funny sometimes but it tries way too hard.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | March 17, 2015 6:21 PM |
Did you enjoy the fourth season's premiere? I thought the third season wasn't all that great at all, but this one seems to be a return to form. But still, I think a lot of the magic disappeared after they hit it big.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | September 15, 2017 6:04 PM |
I'm astounded by what they are allowed to do and say on basic cable anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 27, 2017 1:24 AM |
R48 Did you see the latest episode? This season has been getting better and better, but the last episode finally dealing with Trump was one of the best ever. Other shows are more or less dancing around this issue but this one pulled no punches.
They bleep out the word Trump like it's a swear word. Need more convincing? Jane Curtin guest stars as a witch.
