What are Trey Parker and Matt Stone really like?

Are the South Park guys assholes? They seem like they would be given their politics. Who here has ever actually dealt with them?

by Anonymousreply 117July 12, 2019 8:56 AM

I haven't but I got sucked into reading some online discussion about Trey Parker and his stripper girlfriend that was just sordid. Basically Trey was betrayed by a high school/college girlfriend and so wounded that he thinks all women are whores and only dates strippers now. His current stripper and he are huge drug addicts with coke being their favorite. He's supposed to be an asshole/workaholic too.

by Anonymousreply 1January 18, 2014 10:42 PM

I have a friend who works for Matt and thinks he is great.

by Anonymousreply 2January 18, 2014 10:43 PM

I thought Trey Parker was married.

by Anonymousreply 3January 18, 2014 10:44 PM

Oops--my mistake: he WAS married, but just for two years (2006-08).

Now he lives with a stripper named Boogie Tillmon. Here are the two of them at the Grammys.

That is some forehead!

by Anonymousreply 5January 18, 2014 10:52 PM

Who cares if he took a stripper, I just think it's sweet that he wore his granpa's shoes.

by Anonymousreply 6January 18, 2014 10:53 PM

Parker is one of those guys who throws how rich he is in the faces of women who dissed him when he was a nobody.

This Cracked article mentions his drunken meltdown on the commentary track of Cannibal: The Musical. Apparently he's still bitter over a woman dumping him 15 years earlier (Cartman's slut mom is named after her).

by Anonymousreply 7January 18, 2014 11:06 PM

Parker looks like an asshole. It looks like he's wearing a codpiece under his jeans in the first photo.

by Anonymousreply 8January 18, 2014 11:08 PM

[quote]They seem like they would be given their politics.

It's almost unbelievable that idiots like OP are STILL laboring under the delusion that they're Republicans, even though they constantly pillory Repugs on their show.

by Anonymousreply 9January 18, 2014 11:10 PM

Nobody thinks that they are Republicans, R9. Everyone knows that they claim they are Libertarians, which are far worse than Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 10January 18, 2014 11:14 PM

I never once said that they were Republicans, you stupid fuck. By "given their politics," I meant because they're libertarians.

by Anonymousreply 11January 18, 2014 11:18 PM

Trey is gay

by Anonymousreply 12January 19, 2014 1:53 AM

Trey is moody and hot and cold. He can be very nice and then a complete asshole. Matt is the more normal one.

by Anonymousreply 13January 19, 2014 2:05 AM

Having a few policies that don't suck is no excuse for the rest of the loony positions of Libertardians. Sorry - you can't sell that shit here, kid.

by Anonymousreply 14January 19, 2014 5:23 AM

Matt had the most beautiful ass I've ever seen on a man in that one movie. I just hope it wasn't an ass stand-in.

by Anonymousreply 15January 19, 2014 7:47 AM

r4 All his money and power, and SHE'S the best he could do? Bow-wow.

by Anonymousreply 16January 19, 2014 10:44 AM

"... and this show was pro-gay from day one."

No, not really. Surprised you think so given all the horrible gay stereotypes and one of their early shows making Streisand some kind of Godzilla creature, not because of her ego, but because she wanted to boycott Colorado for an anti-gay law they passed.

by Anonymousreply 17January 19, 2014 11:21 AM

They're right-Libertarians too, the worst kind. They used to admit to being Republicans, before it became fashionable identify as Libertarians. That's what makes the right-Libertarians, also the quote about them hating Republicans but REALLY hating liberals.

And thank you r18, they have admitted that is the origin of their obsessive hatred of Streisand. They said she's the only celeb they really hate, and that's the reason they gave for it.

The show is probably funny sometimes, after all it's stayed on so long, but I refuse to watch it because of their politics.

by Anonymousreply 18January 19, 2014 12:42 PM

Trey and Boogie had a baby girl whom they names Betty. She's the spitting image of Trey.

by Anonymousreply 19July 9, 2014 12:25 AM

At first glance they can easily seem like assholes, but I actually think they're both pretty genuine guys. I like them.

by Anonymousreply 20July 9, 2014 1:14 AM

Trey was so hot, just shows you what happens when you get rich.

by Anonymousreply 21July 11, 2014 4:26 PM

Which one was Clooney in love with?

by Anonymousreply 22July 11, 2014 5:07 PM

There is some nice and some nasty assed, hatefull shit being said here. I met the guy (Trey) randomly in Santa Monica. Totally laid back and cool. Also, I am sorry to say, people tell you that you're the shit long enough, it will go to your head eventually. Let alone that we are all assholes at times.

by Anonymousreply 23April 12, 2015 10:34 AM

The difference is simple.

Matt likes to boogie oogie oggie, while Trey also likes to boogie oogie oogie, but he keeps at it, till he just can't boogie no more.

by Anonymousreply 24April 12, 2015 11:19 AM

"The show is probably funny sometimes, after all it's stayed on so long, but I refuse to watch it because of their politics."

With a restrictive attitude like that towards arts and entertainment, it's easy to see why you'd hate libertarians.

by Anonymousreply 25April 12, 2015 11:33 AM

Trey is the brains and soul behind South Park.

He basically writes all the scripts and you can tell his whimsical sensibility and love of musicals permeate the show. Behind all the toilet humor, there's a very endearing heart to his characters, not unlike the Peanuts gang. I know that's sacrilege to say, but the Shultz's influence is very much there if you look for it.

He also has an amazing understanding of narrative structure...both how to use it and parody it.

Matt should consider himself very lucky he met Trey and hitched his wagon to his star.

Trey always gives him credit and they are an unbreakable team, but you can tell Trey is the creative force and talent behind it all...which Matt often owns up to.

Matt his simply his buddy from college he bounces ideas off of and jokes with while stoned.

I always got the sense that Trey was a tortured soul, like most artists are. Crazy but with flashes of brilliance, and that Matt was the sane cynic who kept him grounded and spiraling out.

When I see Trey talk about Matt, I also get a sense that there might've been a tiny tinge of longing on Trey's part for his friend. I wouldn't be surprised if he was bisexual.

by Anonymousreply 26April 12, 2015 12:12 PM

Thanks for stopping by, Trey at R26,

by Anonymousreply 27April 12, 2015 2:19 PM

They would never take on and expose shit like the Clintons and Jeffrey Epstein, Alan Dershowitz et al. They can ridicule scientology or even Mohammed, but these boys color within the lines, per their corporate masters' decree.

by Anonymousreply 28April 12, 2015 2:26 PM

[quote] They're right-Libertarians too, the worst kind.

Exactly. They both think they're so politically savvy, but they are just assholes who criticize pretty much everyone and everything.

Chronic complainers, just like all the other republitards and libertards.

I love how the linked photo shows his real name... TILLMON PARKER. No wonder he hates himself!

South Park stopped being funny ages ago, when they stopped focusing on the characters, and started focusing on politics and current events.

The characters were actually funny and interesting, but their political commentary is lame.

That show should have ended at LEAST five years ago.

by Anonymousreply 29April 12, 2015 2:34 PM

You might think south park is not funny but The Book of Mormon grossed 200 million dollars, South Park has netted them 300 million (I happen to think South Park is still funny)...

i have worked with both of them. Trey is...um....special. High maint and obsessive. Matt is his yang. He keeps him calm.

by Anonymousreply 30April 12, 2015 3:01 PM

Trey is hot. Is the other one too? Unfortunate about the shoes though.

by Anonymousreply 31April 12, 2015 4:12 PM

R28 poor thing. You still want the supposed scandal to happen

by Anonymousreply 32April 12, 2015 4:21 PM

They manged to make one of the funniest movies ever made, with a great score, "South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut". I never heard bigger laughs all through a movie, and then followed up with one of the worst,"Team America: World Police". You could hear crickets in the theater in NYC Opening day, and I'm not even taking into consideration the rampant homophobic and AIDS jokes.

by Anonymousreply 33April 12, 2015 4:36 PM

Link, R18, to "where they used to admit..." I would be interested to see that admission.

by Anonymousreply 34April 12, 2015 5:00 PM

How can Matt's wife stand to be married to him if he's a right-wing nut?

by Anonymousreply 35April 12, 2015 5:07 PM

I love Team America and South Park. If anybody thinks Trey Parker and Matt Stone are homophobic they have no idea what real homophobia is. I don't give a fuck what they stick their dicks into. Trey's social commentary is brilliant and hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 36April 12, 2015 5:19 PM

R35 - That is a MYTH that started with the "Team America - World Police" movie. People who do not understand comical satire took that movie to be some kind of Republican manifesto / revenge movie - when, it was in fact, the complete opposite.

The bottom line of that movie was clear (and NOT politically biased to ANY ideology).

Gary learns from the drunk in the bar: See, there's three kinds of people: dicks, pussies, and assholes. Pussies think everyone can get along, and dicks just want to fuck all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your assholes, Chuck. And all the assholes want us to shit all over everything! So, pussies may get mad at dicks once in a while, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes, Chuck. And if they didn't fuck the assholes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dick and your pussy all covered in shit!

At the end, Gary realizes that he and Team America are: We're dicks! We're reckless, arrogant, stupid dicks. And the Film Actors Guild are pussies. And Kim Jong Il is an asshole. Pussies don't like dicks, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes: assholes that just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way. But the only thing that can fuck an asshole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dicks is: they fuck too much or fuck when it isn't appropriate - and it takes a pussy to show them that. But sometimes, pussies can be so full of shit that they become assholes themselves... because pussies are an inch and half away from ass holes. I don't know much about this crazy, crazy world, but I do know this: If you don't let us fuck this asshole, we're going to have our dicks and pussies all covered in shit!

by Anonymousreply 37April 12, 2015 5:21 PM

They said they were Republicans in an old Playboy interview. I can't find any links to it that aren't behind a paywall. They never made fun of the myriad Bush scandals. Nothing. Instead we got shit like Al Gore and Man Bear Pig. They are Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 38April 14, 2015 5:49 PM

there is a term called South Park Republican that describes them..

they are quoted as saying they hate conservatives but they REALLY HATE liberals...

by Anonymousreply 39April 14, 2015 7:48 PM

I loved Team America.

Where else have you seen a puppet pooping?

by Anonymousreply 40April 14, 2015 8:02 PM

Necro Bump, whatever.

I notice that Trey's nose is collapsing. Look closely.

by Anonymousreply 41June 13, 2016 10:25 PM

They did used to be registered Republicans. They admitted it with their That's My Bush sitcom, because people assumed the show was anti-Bush. They clarified that they both voted for him, and wanted to do something more subversive, make people like him. So now they're libertarians, same difference, they're right-wingers and I hate them.

by Anonymousreply 42June 13, 2016 10:42 PM

That's disappointing to know R42. I guess they are entitled to their political beliefs. I still love their show.

But my point is that Trey's nose is collapsing on itself. And I thought his girlfriend/wife was pregnant? Did she miscarry or something?

by Anonymousreply 43June 13, 2016 10:47 PM

They are people who should have learned more than they have for the amount of information they have processed.

by Anonymousreply 44June 13, 2016 10:48 PM

I love the South Park guys and the fact that they are beholden to no party.

Amazing social commentary.

by Anonymousreply 45June 13, 2016 10:48 PM

R42 is full of shit.

by Anonymousreply 46June 13, 2016 10:49 PM

Do you think they did each other in college?

by Anonymousreply 47June 13, 2016 10:51 PM

R47, why do you have to be such a masturbatory freak? Get the fuck out of DataLounge now!

by Anonymousreply 48June 13, 2016 10:58 PM

Parker was a musical theater bottom since early childhood, played in the chorus of "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," so it's likely.

by Anonymousreply 49June 13, 2016 11:11 PM

Matt Stone IS a registered Republican, and they regularly trash liberals on their show for bullshit reasons.

Pro Iraq invasion, anti-Al Gore because global warming is just a "manbearpig" = global warming deniers, anti-zoning laws because Walmart should have the freedom to build as much or anywhere they can buy, etc.

by Anonymousreply 50June 13, 2016 11:26 PM

Here is R48, perched on her stool outside the DL main entrance, determining that "masturbatory freaks" have no place here. She brings her dog because it's a good lead-in to her mother having had a cancer scare in 1978.

She is what is known as a useless cunt who thinks a silly post deserves her invective, name-calling and banishment proclamation.

Yes, she is typical, along with the anti-trans hate speakers, the gun nuts, the "I hate all Muslims including gay ones" freepers, the racists, and the humorless SJWs.

But that doesn't mean she isn't a cunt.

Trey and matt are the best. VERY pro gay, too.

by Anonymousreply 53June 14, 2016 12:02 AM

What R51 said to the asshat at R48 works for me. I mean, it's all in good fun. R48 is a cunt.

The children get so upset when they are called out for being children.

This lounge is for adult gay men only, kiddo.

by Anonymousreply 55June 14, 2016 1:00 AM

I know both Trey and Matt. Neither is a republican and neither one is political. Matt's sister is a social worker and he funds the family center which she runs. I'm pretty sure Matt's sister is a lesbian. His mother is great -- very smart, ultra liberal. His father was a beloved economics professor and lawyer at a public university in Denver; he wrote "Core Economics" for any of you who took Econ "200" as an undergrad.

Trey's sister runs an animal rescue operation which he fully funds. People were really critical when he hooked up with Boogie but they've built a nice family. Trey adopted Boogie's son and they subsequently had a daughter, Betty (named for his grandmother).

Both guys give a lot of money to charities and to individuals and they still have more $$ than fu****g God. They're super great to their employees. My daughter worked for South Park Studios about ten years ago and it remains her favorite professional experience (she's now a lawyer). Some of the posters here are really talking out of their asses but the best thing about M&T is that they just don't care.

by Anonymousreply 56June 14, 2016 1:11 AM

Thank you R56.

The ridiculous petty anger that is often pointed toward Trey and matt here is so wrongheaded.

They're great dudes. And South Park is brilliant social commentary.

by Anonymousreply 57June 14, 2016 1:34 AM

Is Trey a coke head like they say?

by Anonymousreply 58June 14, 2016 1:42 AM

Bossy bottoms. Big Bush supporters.

by Anonymousreply 60June 14, 2016 2:26 AM

His nose looks like he got a hold of that coke that was cut with cattle wormer. I thought wealthy people would be immune to that

by Anonymousreply 61June 14, 2016 4:03 AM

Both must be incredibly wealthy.

I wonder is Seth McFarlane is wealthier? I bet he is.

by Anonymousreply 62June 14, 2016 6:00 AM

I hate their conservative anti-gay politics. The show stopped being funny when they started injecting their republican beliefs.

by Anonymousreply 63June 14, 2016 6:16 AM

R63 You have no idea what you're talking about. They're both very very pro-gay and they are not Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 64June 14, 2016 6:19 AM

Team America is so so funny.

by Anonymousreply 65June 14, 2016 6:26 AM

by Anonymousreply 68June 15, 2016 12:26 AM

Neither one of these guys are hot. So average white guy. If they're hot so is Ed O'Neil on Modern Family.

by Anonymousreply 69June 15, 2016 1:12 AM

Trey was hot in 1997.

by Anonymousreply 70June 15, 2016 2:28 AM

by Anonymousreply 71June 15, 2016 2:29 AM

Liberal hating assholes.

by Anonymousreply 72June 15, 2016 2:33 AM

r64 Watch South Park sometimes, I think it's quite obvious where their allegiances lie.

by Anonymousreply 73June 15, 2016 2:36 AM

R73 I love South Park and I know Trey and matt have a very strong independent streak and are beholden to no party. They made it quite clear last season that they're no fans of Trump.

by Anonymousreply 74June 15, 2016 2:53 AM

Hard to read the above. I was one of the first to go into MORMON after the opening run. Meet both guys, found them cool. Hot, even. They certainly knew what they wanted.

by Anonymousreply 75June 15, 2016 4:10 AM

What the hell is wrong with his nose?

by Anonymousreply 76June 15, 2016 6:01 PM

R76 it's collapsing from coke abuse.

by Anonymousreply 77June 15, 2016 6:25 PM

I got tired of waiting around for these 2 homophobes to do something with balls years ago. They are low-ballers hiding behind the outrage of third-grade toilet humor.

by Anonymousreply 78June 15, 2016 11:32 PM

They go after both political parties. They do satire.

by Anonymousreply 79June 15, 2016 11:45 PM

Used to see Matt running along Ballona creek in Marina Del Rey. I was usually running or biking and he always nodded and smiled at me. Perhaps it was bc I was usually in a Lycra skinsuit? Just kidding. I think he was just being kind.

by Anonymousreply 80June 15, 2016 11:47 PM

When does Season 20 of South Park start? I've watched all the episodes on Hulu and I'm bored.

by Anonymousreply 81June 18, 2016 8:55 PM

September 14, R81.

by Anonymousreply 82June 18, 2016 8:57 PM

Good R82, I cannot wait.

by Anonymousreply 83June 22, 2016 11:56 PM

[quote]They go after both political parties.

Honey, they hate liberals. Liberals have always been their #1 target. They've gone on record about it, made films about it. They are no friend of the gays either, especially not after their episode trying to convince the masses that saying "That's so gay" isn't homophobic. Now kindly fuck off.

by Anonymousreply 84June 23, 2016 12:12 AM

R84 don't forget the episode where they say using the word fag is perfectly fine because it's not anti-gay.

by Anonymousreply 85June 23, 2016 12:21 AM

They are still funny and not beholden to either liberals or conservatives. Team America is a fucking delight because it savages both with gusto. Who didn't get that?

Some of you need to retreat to your safe space.

by Anonymousreply 86June 23, 2016 12:48 AM

You GO R86! I love these partisans who feel the need to obsessively label everyone one way or the other. Trey and Matt have a pragmatic, common sense view of the world. Often the targets of their satire are conservatives, and sometimes they target liberals. They seem to have no problem whatsoever with Obama, but they seem not to be fans of George W. or Hillary.

I'm gay as a goose and I ADORE Trey and Matt. Fuck you if you think I'm somehow being a bad gay for thinking that way. I could care less.

by Anonymousreply 87June 23, 2016 8:13 AM

I like them. I don't always agree with them and some episodes aren't that good but South Park is one of the best shows out there. Better than The Family Guy or The Simpsons.

by Anonymousreply 88June 23, 2016 9:18 AM

Do any of you find Big Gay Al and Mr Garrison offensive?

by Anonymousreply 89June 23, 2016 12:48 PM

I don't r89. I know some folks do. But South Park rags on everybody-white people, black people, Asians everyone. They don't tiptoe around anyone's feelings.

by Anonymousreply 92June 23, 2016 4:08 PM

The show was okay when it was just about 4 foul mothed kids, now every story has to have a moral. They take a story in the news and take it to the most extreme degree and then moralize over it. Big deal.

by Anonymousreply 93June 23, 2016 4:16 PM

Obviously I meant "mouthed" not "mothed" at R93.

by Anonymousreply 94June 23, 2016 4:21 PM

They had how many thousands of Bush scandals (gay hooker at the White House, his general stupidity, phony war, Katrina, etc etc etc) to make fun of and commentary on and instead we get "Manbear Pig" Serially. They're right wing republican assholes and laugh free.

by Anonymousreply 95June 24, 2016 4:35 PM

[quote]I know both Trey and Matt. Neither is a republican and neither one is political.

Followthemoney lists Trey as having donated to Republican candidates, R56. They've stated they hate liberals. The term "South Park Republican" started with Andrew Sullivan who heard them make pro-Republican comments at an awards show. Parker and Stone go out of their way to publicly slam noted celebrity liberals in interviews (i.e. not on the show) but I can't find a single example of them doing the same to a noted celebrity conservative. The National Review has written articles praising the politics on South Park. Stone was a registered as recently as 2010 as a Republican.

You obviously aren't a regular here -- censoring yourself is a dead giveaway -- and you just sound like a shill. So if you can pass on a note to your employers, please tell them that Trey needs to lay off the coke because his nose is about to implode. Thanks.

by Anonymousreply 96June 24, 2016 6:13 PM

Last season's Southpark was EXCEPTIONALLY good. One of their best ever. PC Principal, Shipatown, gentrification of Kenny's neighborhood, fucking brilliant season. Trey has an incredible eye for satire, he just absolutely NAILS it almost every time. Amazing talent.

R100 I have never met Parker or Stone but I sure a fuck admire them. Open your mind. Not everything has to be one way or another.

And, the product isn't bad. I will admit that they've had so-so seasons, but the most recent one was absolutely brilliant.

by Anonymousreply 101June 25, 2016 12:48 AM

Newsmeat had their political donations up. All RNC and Republican candidate donations. A few million donated by each of them.

by Anonymousreply 102June 25, 2016 12:53 AM

"I hate conservatives, but I really fucking hate liberals." - Matt Stone

by Anonymousreply 103June 25, 2016 12:54 AM

I save complexity for complex people R101. There's nothing remotely interesting or intelligent about these people.

by Anonymousreply 104June 25, 2016 12:58 AM

R102 go fuck yourself. They did not give a cent to any Republican in 2016. Jesus, it must be miserable to be you. "They don't fall in line and AGREE with everything I think, so I HATE THEM". I feel bad for whatever poor soul is stuck with you as a boyfriend.

by Anonymousreply 105June 25, 2016 1:02 AM

R102 LIES. Not a single contribution from either of them. You think just because you use the name of the website that will impress people to think what you're saying is true? This just shows how full of shit you are in general.

R103 That quote is from the '90s. They've both evolved. And, I know exactly what he means. There is a certain element of liberals that can be very annoying or off-putting. I get it.

Bottom line: they're independent thinkers, who don't fall in line with any political party and do brilliant satire. And they did some of the best work of their career in season 19 of South Park. Which is amazing. No show is ever any good after like season 6. Love those dudes.

I'm very surprised that Trey married twice ,he doesn't seem suited to that life at all. As far as I know Matt Is still married . I'm curious about their personalities as well, I would like to hear from anyone who's met them.

Two republican shitstains who ruined their own show by turning it into political dreck.

SP hasn’t been republican (if it ever was republican) in years

Team America: Police World Police makes fun of both sides, but clearly thinks republicans are the lesser of the two evils. They also didn't make fun of dubya nearly enough on the show during those years.
