Jennette's "Sam" to ICarly was like "Niles" to Frazier... I always thought Niles really made the show and overshadowed Grammer. Same with "Sam". Let's face it... Miranda Cosgrove is dull, and ugly. Yeah he was one of the producers on that show and he also played the store manager. The rumors with Schneider are usually tied to the shows with female leads.

I have never known what to think of the rumors. Most of the people who acted on Schneider shows are still in contact with him. But again, the rumors about him are too constant. Some suspicion about Schneider arose more when Victorious was on. That show was never completely kid friendly. There was some complaint about how two of the female characters were dressed throughout the show's run. The foot fetish thing was also constant on that show.

There was a blind item several days on CDAN about a show that was cancelled and most guesses are leaning towards Victorious. I know CDAN is known for making up shit, but I can sort of believe this blind. Also the spinoff show Sam and Cat is very dumbed down for little kids compared to Victorious and iCarly. I wouldn't be surpised if Nick has Sam and Cat dumbed down for certain reasons.

Money is probably a main reason to why he is still working with Nick. His shows have been successful for the most part when it comes to cable ratings, but Nick was pissed that Victorious didn't make big money though the soundtracks and tours.

Victorious was Nick's attempt at having a Hannah Montana type cash cow, but it failed. Victoria Justice isn't that great of a singer. I do think she is an ok actress. I liked Victorious for the most part, some episodes were lame and some episodes were funny. Whatever happened or didn't, I doubt Schneider got up to much on the sets of K&K or D&J. K&K was early in his career, so even a dumbass would know to keep their shenanigans hidden at that point. Kenan and Kel were also approaching their late teens when they made it, so i doubt they needed the casting couch in the same way a poor little girl may be made to feel she does.

By D&J, Dan more or less would've had free reign--but if he got up to anything, I suppose it would have gone unnoticed, since Drake and Josh themselves seemed way too wrapped up in one another to notice much else. They've had a long career together, been comedic foils since preteendom, so they brought a lot of history and past connection with them to that show. The love is palpable...so much that homoerotic jokes became a staple of D&J by the end.

I just went back and rewatched an ep and it's almost uncomfortably intimate to watch the two work by the last season (season 4). It can't only be me that thinks these two fucked repeatedly and tenderly? Their body language is so cacophonous; I swear in a single episode I saw Drake lean into Josh's arms contentedly and SIGH more than I saw comedic pratfalls (and there are a lot of those in this production). I dig Jennette and really respond to her humor and what she has to say. I think she’s cooler than most young female screen personalities (especially her former co-stars) because she isn’t hung up about seeming polished or about being liked & fitting with viewers’ expectations. Her personality-type should not be all that unusual but sadly you rarely see openly displayed it in well-known performers.

She’s boldly funny & expressive, and unafraid to be who she is - which is a brassy, boyish & hyperfriendly woman who is more interested in writing & communicating than in fame & attention. It’s easy to tell she wants to be respected for integrity & outspoken intelligence more than anything else, and that in turn garners respect from others. She seems like someone you’d want to go to a movie with just to hear her riff and rail at the stupidity.

But maybe my enthusiasm is just the Saturn in Aquarius kinship talking; that astrology makes someone more masculine-acting, cerebral, serious-looking or sounding (but funny, like a ‘straight man’ in comedy ) & sarcastic than they might otherwise be, especially when the subject isn’t an Aquarius Sun (Jennette is a Cancerian, they are usually more femme).

Dan Schneider, If the stories are to be believed, was blackmailing Summer Redstone Using information from the private detectives and whatever else is and end less money bought to dig up dirt on him. All of these producers on kid shows should be watched 24 seven. He is not the first and definitely not the last. We’ll see if nickelodeon learned anything from this. Apparently he had his own private sets away from everything to shoot these shows. The official reason he quit is that he didn’t want to have to share his set with other shows. If they are smart they should not let anyone shoot these kids shows on a private set again. Not a guarantee but he essentially had his own Pedo Island With everyone on the set hand-picked by him To keep it quiet.

I'm going to state an extremely unpopular opinion. I am not convinced, in the day and age of lawsuits and openness about molestation, that Schneider is guilty. I think someone would have spoken up by now or Nickelodeon would have quietly fired him

R119 I think the issue is that a lot of these actresses you’re working or are still trying to work and don’t want to be tied to the scandal. I also read that during the height of her craziness Amanda Bynes was talking about it and of course she was not taken seriously. I do think that he takes in these families that definitely do not have the money or power to bring him down. I think the reason that nothing is happening is that these families are still trying to make their livelihood in Hollywood and are not going to risk this

R119 Nickelodeon did quietly fire him. It made the papers because he is pretty much the face of nickelodeon but they did quietly fire him seemingly overnight. Check out his Twitter he hasn’t posted since March when he was fired. I think they did it is quietly and quickly as possible

Make of this what you will:

She has a new podcast out called "Empty Inside" that I came across by chance because a comedian I like was on there. I was not in the demographic to be watching "iCarly", so I had no idea who she was before I did some Googling. I am sort of surprised she has a thread on DL. She and I are roughly the same age—two years and a couple days apart. Based on the episodes I've listened to, I like her personality. She seems intelligent and empathetic. She's had a fairly of fucked up life—was apparently forced into acting by her stage mom (who fought cancer for almost two decades before dying in 2013), had anorexia/bulimia for years, and was also an alcoholic. I think she also mentioned having been raised a Mormon, which will put some psychological dents in you.

Not to jump on the Dan Schneider train here, but: In one of the episodes, the topic of sexual abuse came up, and she alluded to having been sexually abused as a minor multiple times. She also expressed her disdain for all of the acting work she'd done, and basically said it was all a horrible experience for her. It really does make you wonder—the way she was talking about it set off some alarm bells for me.

She made it pretty clear she has no interest in ever acting again, which sort of surprised only because you rarely hear a famous person take such a hardline stance about quitting, especially when they're young and have had success. She's cute but she is not a stereotypical beauty, so I can see how growing up on television would fuck her up so bad—she has one of those faces where she looks both 12 and 37 years old at the same time.

iCarly reboot happening because CBS All Access order one but no word if Jennette or Noah will be coming back. Jerry,Nathan and Miranda have signed on.

As we type, the Nickelodeon Youtube channel are live-streaming a full day of iCARLY content.

I am about the same age as the iCARLY characters, and except for Jennette’s hilarious dykey character I thought it sucked. DRAKE & JOSH and its predecessor KENAN & KEL were the only good Schneider Nickcoms. I also liked NED’S DECLASSIFIED, but I’m pretty sure Dan had nothing to do with that one.

R124 iCarly is too dated for a reboot/sequel to work. The original mainly worked because YouTube was still a new platform and the behind-the-scenes hijinks of YouTubers was fresh at the time. Also, Cosgrove and McCurdy made a good comedic duo with their chemistry and ability to play off each other. Miranda is not really talented or funny but she worked well as a straight man foil to Jenette's whacky. Jennette and Jerry Trainor honestly really stole the show. The kid that played Gibby was annoying and unfunny.
