He was the most gorgeous specimen of manhood to ever appear on TV. Even hotter than Robert Urich. Fact.
Dearest gaylings...Kent McCord would wipe the floor with your prescious Lautners, Lutzes, Bomers, ect.

LOL No.

As a youngster, I watched Adam 12 and once blurted out to my family "I wonder if they show each other their privates".
Things got real quiet in the TV room. :)

R3 Yes, it was him. Yum, Yum!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 30, 2012 8:16 PM |
Kent McCord was good looking, but Urich was MUCH sexier.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 30, 2012 8:16 PM |
He was good-looking but reminded me of a blank slate. No charisma or personality. I preferred the other guy on Adam-12.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 30, 2012 8:18 PM |
He looks like a homeless mental patient in that photo, OP. Might there be a better shot of this man elsewhere?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 30, 2012 8:19 PM |
Might you do your own search R7? You lazy fuck?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 30, 2012 10:02 PM |
R2 made me laugh. I love stories like that.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 30, 2012 10:18 PM |
Yes, I love r2's story! A perfect "Dialing The Phone With A Pencil" moment.

Those eyes look psychotic. He is destined for prison.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 31, 2012 3:22 AM |
Totally agree, OP. Drop. Dead. Gorgeous.
You can catch him on old "Ozzie and Harriet" shows where he was still being billed under his real name: Kent McWhirter.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 31, 2012 5:47 AM |
Kent was very good friends with Ricky Nelson. I believe that's how he got the part on OZZIE AND HARRIET.

Clearly, none of you youngsters ever watched the Cheyenne Show, starring Clint Walker.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 31, 2012 8:11 AM |
Yes, OP. Kent was a handsome slab of man.
But would he have had the intestinal fortitude to bear the silence and stinging looks that R2 endured?
Love you R2. My guilt and shame seemed to arrive hand in hand with the funny feelings I got when looking at muscular men. So I never would have been able to voice such a question.
If I had I'm pretty sure it would have been answered with the pounding of a closed fist on top of my head.
God bless my fellow sissies that let it all out.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 31, 2012 8:14 AM |

It doesn't take much for you eldergays, does it. As long as it's OLD it's good.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 26, 2013 4:29 AM |
Kent McCord and Martin Milner were both hotter than hell. Adam-12 was a ritual when I was a kid. It started in 1968, when I was began sixth grade and ended the year I graduated from high school, 1975. I had a huge crush on both of them from the first episode. Both actors are extremely heterosexual, but it was still a nice fantasy in my formative years. I recently bought a couple of seasons of Adam-12 on DVD. Surprisingly, the episodes held up pretty well. It brought back memories of my brother (a year older) and my two sisters (two and three years younger)sitting in front of the TV, riveted for that 30 minutes. My brother always had a crush on Barbara Eden (Jeannie), but my crushes were Reed and Malloy. We still joke about that.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 26, 2013 4:36 AM |
I'm not quite the eldergay that the OP is but Michael Ontkean from "The Rookies" and "Twin Peaks" is way hotter.

by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 26, 2013 5:13 AM |
McCord, now 70, regularly played a judge in the CBS television military courtroom drama JAG throughout most of its run.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 26, 2013 7:04 AM |
Didn't he get into it with Shitbra Gilbert when they both served on the Screen Actor's Guild?

Here's a photo montage of Kent McCord, including hot shots of him with Mickey Dolenz, Ricky Nelson, and McCord's dad (both shirtless).
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 26, 2013 2:34 PM |
Was he gay, he looks gay, especially in that new photo of the old guy.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 26, 2013 2:43 PM |
Well during Adam 12 he was married and had children. One of his daughters had a bit part in an episode from the last season in which Malloy is kidnapped and Reed must track them down. Those are some of my favorite Adam 12 episodes when one of them would get hurt or captured and the other would risk everything to rescue his partner. They may never have said it or ever hit the sheets, but those two loved each other!
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 26, 2013 2:57 PM |
When did he divorce?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 26, 2013 3:19 PM |
He was as hot as a Ken doll, and had the same personality.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 26, 2013 3:45 PM |
I recently caught an Adam-12 rerun showing Milner in street clothes - skintight brown denim bell-bottoms - looking surprisingly hot.
McCord was such a sensitive, naive fellow on the show. Milner had a sexy, tough attitude.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 26, 2013 3:50 PM |
That guy is supposedly better looking than Bomer? Please.
But I do agree that he looks much better than Lutz and Lautner. Especially Lautner, who is average looking at best.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 26, 2013 4:19 PM |
Here's a link to Kent's imdb bio. He's been married to the same woman for 50 years now. They had 3 children. And he very active in Screen actors Guild. He was a favorite of Jack Webb, though they disagred on politics as McCord was against the Vietnam War while Webb favored it, but that didn't stop Webb hiring him for walk ons on Dragnet before giving him the role of Officer Reed on Adam 12. In the late 70s, Webb was thinking of reviving Dragnet again and he hired McCord to play his partner, but the reboot didn't get picked up.

Kent McCord is far better-looking than Don Grady.

Here's a plum for my fellow "elders" to slurp on. Read into it what you wish (spoilers ahead):
After 20 years of friendship, so devoted to Martin Milner was Kent McCord that he wrote and produced a pilot movie script for TNN called "Nashville Beat" in which he and Milner would star. Filmed on location, the plot involves McCord's newly-widowed character relocating to Nashville to team up with his former LAPD partner (Milner) in an attempt to rid the city of gang violence. Most of the action is forgettable, though it is charming to see Milner and McCord hook up as if they never left off fighting crime. In the finale, the two of them get up on stage to serenade each other with the Beatles' song "Do You Want To Know A Secret?" in front of a roomful of people. The film fades out after they reach the line, "I'm in love with you...oooooh...."
(Lest you forget, the author of this scene is Kent McCord.)
For reasons that were never made clear, TNN didn't pick up the pilot, and the movie has become impossible to find--unless you know where to look (Sell.com).

Alas, Kent McCord's website is no more.

I still remember a blackout sketch on Laugh-In that featured Milner and McCord in their squad car. They're driving along and say:
McCord: So how long have we been working together?
Milner: Six years.
McCord: So do you think it's about time we did it?
Milner: Do you really want to?
McCord: I have since the beginning.
Milner: Okay, let's do it.
McCord: Really?
Milner: Sure. Let's do it. You can drive the car.
And they laugh and change places....LOL
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 6, 2013 12:47 AM |
I always enjoy any scene where McCord's character is talking about his wife and then they cut to a reaction shot of Milner looking ticked off. I like to pretend that Malloy was jealous and wanted Reed for himself and who can blame him?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 6, 2013 1:33 AM |
Kent is handsome :) Oh, the memories!
I used to have a big 9 year old crush on Raymond Burr's sidekick when I was younger. His name was Don I think. He was tall, slender, dark haired, handsome, classy and very sexy. I've liked White guys of his type ever since.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | May 6, 2013 5:26 AM |
He looks like Taylor Lautner.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | May 6, 2013 6:09 AM |
r48, Kent was in rather dry good humour with the roving Ms DeWitt. It was Robert Hayes who was fucking rude.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 6, 2013 6:14 AM |
R37, I loved those shows, too.
Starsky and Hutch were able to be more emotional about it.
I loved a lot of 70s and 80s cops -- Willie on The Rookies; Robert Urich on S.W.A.T. and Spenser for Hire.
Always wanted to witness some big crime and have to go live with them for protection.
or just go live with them.

I had a friend who worked at SAG and knew Kent well. He said he's a hard-core liberal, extremely handsome and personable, and hung huge. (Mr friend stood next to him at a urinal once - this was back before "hiding urinals"). He said Kent was much better looking in his late30s-40s than he had been in his 20s.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | May 6, 2013 8:52 AM |
I grew up watching Adam 12. Heck at 13 I had a crush on Reed and Malloy but preferred Reed. The first year the story lines were korny but each season the writing improved and so did the story lines. I hear he had a run in with Melissa Gilbert. He wasn't too happy with her "moderate reign" when she was President of SAG.

Saw him just a few months ago at the Chiller Show in New Jersey. Full head of silver hair, a good looking grandfather.
And no this isn't me, I just googled and found it.

Kent was a handsome man, but still not as handsome as Ricky Nelson. I met Ricky in 1963 when I was just 11-years-old and to this day he remains the handsomest man I've ever seen.
