Jimmy Kimmel Show: Carol Burnett Gets Surprise Message From Bradley Cooper in Honor of Her 91st Birthday (April 26)

"Hello, Carol Burnett, it's Bradley Cooper," the video begins. "I just wanted to wish you a very happy 91st birthday. I've been such a massive fan of yours ever since I was a kid, watched your show religiously, and it's a thrill to leave you this message. I hope to meet you one day and maybe even work together. I hope you have a great day, see ya."

Burnett was delighted by the message, telling Kimmel, "Oh, that is hysterical. I love that."

Carol's show aired 1967-1978. Bradley was born in 1975. How was he watching The Carol Burnett Show "religiously" when he was only three years old when it went off the air? And there were no TV Land type networks in the '70s and '80s where he could have even been watching reruns of Carol's show.

Bradley is fibbing hoping no one notices. He was only three years old!

The Carol Burnett Show ran on TBS or some other basic cable network. I know this because I watched it as a child. Definitely didn't see it in first run.

[quote]After the original run ended, material from 1972 to 1977 (seasons 6–10) was repackaged as a half-hour series known as Carol Burnett and Friends, which has aired in various syndicated outlets more-or-less continuously since the original series ended.

Cunt.

R4. According to the same Wikipedia link that you posted:

"The episodes of The Carol Burnett Show from 1967 to 1972 had never been released in syndication until 2019, when MeTV added the episodes to its library on April 14, 2019."

Bradley Cooper was not a kid in 2019. And the "Carol & Company" show of the early 1990s was NOT "The Carol Burnett Show" of the '60s and '70s.

That Bradley…you can’t trust a wig-wearing man.

by Anonymousreply 8April 27, 2024 1:06 AM

TBS ran "Carol Burnett & Friends" five days a week for pretty much the entire decade of the '80s. As somebody else stated, it was the syndicate's version, heavily edited with all the musical guests cut out. The original hour long episodes are what became widely available in 2019.

Bradley Cooper isn't lying about having seen the showv while growing up. He's about my age and I watched it regularly, too.

by Anonymousreply 9April 27, 2024 1:08 AM

I'm the same age as Bradley Cooper and I remember the Carol Burnett Show being syndicated in the 80s. He definitely could've seen it when he was a kid.

But I agree that he's a lying sack of shit about so many other things.

The show ran until 1978. All this means is that only six seasons were available versus the entire series run.

by Anonymousreply 11April 27, 2024 1:11 AM

Yeah, I'm a couple of tear older (1973) and I definitely remember watching the half-hour show as a kid.

*years

by Anonymousreply 13April 27, 2024 1:20 AM

Will he finally get his Oscar for this?

by Anonymousreply 14April 27, 2024 1:40 AM

MeTV has shown the syndicated version for years. They never ever take it off, so one can assume it must get good ratings for them.

by Anonymousreply 15April 27, 2024 1:43 AM

I suspect Brad jerks off to Tim Conway.

Frequently.

by Anonymousreply 16April 27, 2024 1:44 AM

He was fangirling over Carol Burnett as a toddler? Gaaaaaaaay

by Anonymousreply 17April 27, 2024 1:46 AM

^ I think it's Lyle Waggoner who Bradley jerks off to. Those old Playgirl nudies! That birthday message from Bradley to Carol is SO MARY!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 18April 27, 2024 1:48 AM

True.

And he stole the playgirls from his “roommate.”

by Anonymousreply 19April 27, 2024 1:51 AM

I'm giving her the gift of me.
