“Late Night with the Devil”
Full movie here. You’re welcome.
I enjoyed it very much. It’s terrific. I love watching these tiny budget indie flicks and how they have to be more creative with the films than a big studio film with huge budget.
It’s a terrific drama with horror undertones. I recommend it greatly.

I thought it was a lot of fun until the final 10 minutes.

The special effects during the climactic scene at the end were about powerful and frantic as what you’d see on “The Kroft Supershow” in the 70s.

R5 they wanted it to look 70s. All of it. And they did a great job.

That was definitely a 1977 looking set but they had the same design when they showed the program’s “premiere” in 1971 and that would have had a completely different aesthetic.

Not really. The set looks very late 60s/early 70s as well. It would make sense they never updated the setup because the show was never a big enough hit to invest more money into. It did well but not well enough where the money was flowing like Carson.

I agree. The movie is great but the ending falls flat. Everything leading up to the ending is great though.

**SPOILER***
A VERY original script. Great performances with a promising beginning BUT eventually falls flat due to the found footage trope of sinister cults and/or witches being responsible for everything. It felt like the writers were like...."Fuck, we need to add 30 minutes of material"

I thought it was very good but unfortunately didn't stick its landing. The build up was great but the ending felt rushed.

R10 the witches etc. were a part of the elite. They were basically the Illuminati and the host sold his soul to devil for the elite (and sacrificed his wife) for success.

What horror movie is scary in 2024?

I thought it SUCKED and I am a horror fan. I enjoyed the 3 minutes of bedlam but I was not scared for a minute. The ending sucked no worse than the film was.
5/10.

I’m also a horror fan and enjoyed it a lot more, but I think it’s being over hyped a bit, and, unlike someone upthread, didn’t find it particularly original.
Overall a solid, well told horror pic, I’ll call it 6.5/10.

R13 What part of my post made you believe I didn't understand that?

Scary...I probably meant supernatural creepy. I dont like blood and guts...eyeballs being cut out
I move I really found creepy was “Grave Encounters” A low budget, well acted movie. Thats the type I like...a well done “found footage” that doesnt make you sick watching
