Earlier this year I was en route to Park Slope in Brooklyn to visit a friend and the cab went past a spectacular building somewhere near the park that was in a Gothic style. I later mentioned it to another friend who shares my interest in architecture and he said that he thought it was a private library that had been there for 150 years. My search has turned up the Brooklyn Historical Society, which looks beautiful, but is not the building I'm thinking about. Does anyone have any knowledge of this place and is it still open? If so is it open to the public?
A private library in Brooklyn near Prospect Park - any info?
