Muriel won’t let me post links anymore

I’m also getting posts (seemingly only in a thread about Madonna) rejected with this annoying error message: “Something went wrong: Rejected.”

I do feel like the administrators of this site seem to be trying to drive active users away, or else they are experimenting to find out how much abuse they’ll take before bailing out. I’ve really never seen anything like it.

R1 I get that message anytime I try to post links. Fuck this censorship.

I've been getting the rejected warning as well. I tried to post a picture of Jeremy Renner's bulge on the small dick thread but I was rejected several times before giving up.

I get the hurtful "Rejected" message on my phone, but not on my PC (same thread).

Trolls agonize their spam links are rejected. Ho-hum ho-hum.....

I haven't tried to post any links, but I am getting an empty gray preview box when I hit post. I have to hit post a couple of times before it goes through.

Why is everyone assuming it's them? Maybe it's just a technical problem. smh

OP, just try again. I've had that happen to me sometimes. It seems to depend on the thread as well.

Whenever I get a message out of the blue. I copy my post to my clipboard and reload the page.

99% of the time there was a DL clash of some sort but the post posts.

Sometimes it shows up minutes later if I close and reopen DL.

I think the noble experiment of requiring a monthly fee is going to ultimately prove too costly. Bottom line: Anonymity is more important to DLers who refuse to "de-cloak" in order to pay. It's not the money, honey.

Could very well be whatever site link is being posted to doesn't allow "link backs". Usually will get a message saying so, but sometimes not.

Over past few years many websites have tightened things up regarding link backs and or even downloading, especially where it concerns images.

The thread watcher is also on the fritz. I keep getting "new" posts, open the thread only to see that I had read it entirely already/

I've been getting the rejected message today too. on simple plain text, no link posts. It says the captcha didn't go through. What captcha? But the messages get posted.

Anytime I try to post from Facebook I get rejected. I just assumed that they were cracking down on posting personal information.

R39 About half of my posts are now rejected, too, and I’ve spent too much time writing some of them. I can only assume at this point that 1) not only is this place a huge time suck but 2) my opinions are not welcomed by the site administrators. It’s aggravating, but finally after all these years I am far less inclined to come here than I used to be because what’s the point of coming to a message board if all you can do is lurk and read other people’s opinions? Bummer. But maybe I’ll get some time back in my life that I can use more productively.

Happens with me too. Reloading helps with text, but i can't post links.

I just tested on this thread and still get rejected. Sucks. I'm able to attach NYT articles but not pictures of guys🤔

The captcha is another issue. In addition to the captchas you're used to, such as the Google one, where you pick cars or stop lights (which are used to train Google's AI for self driving cars), Google also has another kind of captcha.

This kind runs in the background of every page of the website and it silently analyzes your movements on the page. Such as scrolling and mouse gestures, to see if you are a human or a bot.

It then assigns you a captcha score. Sometimes you get the message saying it's too low, which means Google captcha thinks your not human.

This is not an issue directly to this site, but Google's. A lot of websites use it to minimize bots, but Google gets a lot of complaints on how wrong it often is.

Because for years people were getting banned and having various posting privileges taken away for no reason so everyone's first thought is that it's punishment again.

I believe there is a size limit to URLs. I've noticed several times when I tried to post a link and the url was especially long, and even though the link appeared in the link preview before I hit REPLY, I would get an error once I hit REPLY. The only way to get the link to post was for me to use TinyURL to shorten the link, and without fail it always worked.

Size isn't an issue for me.

I still have problems regardless.
