Has coke ever gone out of fashion?

Quaaludes were legal prescription drugs that were then passed around illegally. Quite popular in the 60s and 70s and into the 80s.
Ahh memories.

I went to college in the 70s and my drugs of choice were grass, coke, acid/LSD and - to make it through classes - speed (aka White Cross). Of those, grass was the certainly the cheapest and easiest to come by. The university I attended was known for its counter-culture hippie vibe and drugs were readily available and affordable. The campus cops and the town's Barney Fife police force didn't even try to get a handle on it. Of everything available, acid was the riskiest since most of it was concocted in someone's garage and you never knew what you were getting.

R16 I've walked by three pharmacies located in different stores that I've been to in the past month, and they all have large displays near their front counters selling Narcan. Epidemic.

I worked with a lot of drug addicts and used drugs myself.
Drugs are subject to supply and price issues.
One young man I worked with was using crystal meth. He told me his drug of choice was oxys, but they were hard to get.
I think he was depressed and had mental health issues. He died in his 20s.
