Where are all the male law students going!?

Keep in mind, this is Seattle University School of Law, which is woketopia and Disneyland for social justice warriors…

But look at the demographic breakdown for 2023 1L students!

It’s 65% women, 31% men, and 3% non-binary. Where are all the men?? Why are they so underrepresented??

Considering how it’s also 31% LGBTQ+, perhaps a big portion of the 65% women are made up of women with weenies?

When will they ever learn?

by Anonymousreply 2April 19, 2024 5:45 AM

OP is a right-wing redneck who rants about "wokeness"

He doesn't understand law school or college because he dropped out of high school in the 9th grade. That's MAGA for you

by Anonymousreply 3April 19, 2024 5:51 AM

Trans people make up .6% of the population,OP. But knuckle-draggers like you are so obsessed with them that you've apparently convinced yourself that they make up 80% of the population

by Anonymousreply 4April 19, 2024 5:52 AM

R4, do you not consider non-binaries trans? Well, that’s 3% of the 1L law students at my alma mater, Seattle U.

And btw, R4, you obviously support minors transitioning, going on puberty blockers, losing their ability to orgasm, etc.

Education for men has be totally de-emphasized in contemporary times; all of the emphasis has been on women in STEM. " Female empowerment" and " toxic masculinity" are terms that have found their way into everyday thinking. With employers are told to look for female candidates to fill jobs, it's very easy to see that this would result in fewer men in professional careers.

by Anonymousreply 6April 19, 2024 12:34 PM

Sock puppet thread. First post by this OP with this account.

Yeah. She's just wanting to know where all the boys are.

Anyone seriously interested in education and current trends in the emerging disparity between female and male advancement across most upper-level academics can Google it.

More women than men apply to law school but a higher percentage of male applicants are accepted.

[quote]Follow the after graduation employment rates.

Yep, it's not as attractive as a career as it once was for many would-be applicants.

According to recent Gallup the trans population is .9 % of the total population. But when you look at GenZ those more likely to be college students it’s trans being 2.8% of gen z. While gay men are 2.6%.

Men in general though may be a sinking lot.

by Anonymousreply 10April 19, 2024 1:20 PM

That is the trend in law school across the country. Female law school students have outnumbered male students for the last several years.

It's not any of that. Male students are generally less motivated, less ambitious and more distracted. For white dudes, many of the male role models they find appealing were propped up by Daddy's money or status.

by Anonymousreply 11April 19, 2024 1:54 PM

male college students have been avoiding or dropping out of college in increasing numbers across the board, in every country since the 1990's

Better law schools.

R8’s link:

The report also examined admission rates by race and ethnicity. According to the report, 78% of white applicants were accepted to at least one law school. This was also true for 70% of Native Hawaiians or other Pacific Islander applicants, 67% of multiracial applicants, and 67% of Asian applicants.

Meanwhile, 58% of Hispanic, Latino, or Puerto Rican applicants were accepted to law school, as were 52% of American Indian or Alaska Native applicants and 48% of Black or African American applicants.

LOL!! Only 48%. Now that affirmative action has been banned, what will that number go down to? I think it’s likely the black students previously accepted at lower ranking law schools will no longer be going to law school at all.

As I said just before you males maybe a a sinking lot. Especially native born males. They don’t go to college as much, they don’t learn an actual trade as much, they don’t serve the country as much. OK less than much on that last.

You look at any construction crew doing the hard work on a hot day——almost entirely will be Hispanics. And fairly recent to the US Hispanics. Hungry hard working and willing to do the dirty work.

What are native born males good for? Sperm. What else? More sperm. What else? Complaining about Taylor Swift and talking about eating ass.

by Anonymousreply 15April 19, 2024 3:13 PM

What are the numbers at the top law schools?

71% of STEM college degree holders in the academic year of 2020-21 were male

61% of lawyers in the US are male.

Computer engineering, general: male students: 87.4% – female students: 12.6%. According to the Pew Research Center

Of the 20 wealthiest people in the US, 18 are male.

In 2022, women earned an average of 82% of what men earned, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of median hourly earnings of both full- and part-time workers. These results are similar to where the pay gap stood in 2002, when women earned 80% as much as men.

And you dear, know nothing.

In other words, they're just like their idol, that orange haired buffoon who is currently sitting in a court room in NYC for hiring a hooker and lying about it. 80 million jack asses voted for this uber clown in 2020, because he's the embodiment of their dreams.

Talk about entitlement.

by Anonymousreply 20April 19, 2024 4:21 PM

61% of the lawyers in the US are male? Based on this article that is a % that will go lower and lower over the decades because more and more law students are female..

But 61% proves my point. At one time 100% of the lawyers in the US were male. Give it another 100 years.

by Anonymousreply 21April 19, 2024 4:22 PM

Be a white male on trial in 20 years and you’ll see the way justice has been perverted.

That's a crappy law school. The men are at the better schools.

by Anonymousreply 24April 19, 2024 4:30 PM

Going to law school is a complete waste of time. We are inundated with lawyers. There is only a need for about 1/10 of those who graduate. The rest waste their money or end up as two bit lawyers chasing ambulances. Good spots out of law school are very rare. Then you first years as a lawyer are miserable. Long hours, shit pay, and nothing but stress.

by Anonymousreply 25April 19, 2024 4:40 PM

R18, why are you comparing the younger generation to the total of everyone in all generations?

What’s true of the total does not scale down to the younger generations.

by Anonymousreply 26April 19, 2024 4:41 PM

Long time passing

Where have all the male law studs gone

Where have all the male law studs gone

The girls have picked them every one.

Oh, When will you ever learn?

Oh, When will you ever learn?

[quote]why are you comparing the younger generation to the total of everyone in all generations?

The younger generation of men are doing fine. They'll continue inventing, exploring, creating, just as they've always done.

It will be 50/50 favoring women in just 10 years. The last generation of lawyers that was overwhelmingly male will retire or die in the next 10 years.

This has been happening for a while. I started law school in--GASP! Eldergay!--1984, and our class had (barely) a majority of women students.

Also, although the hours worked in the first few years after law school were terrible, the pay was excellent. At least back then.
