Is Andrew Weissmann, MSNBC's Legal Analyst, Gay?

He's very knowledgeable, and he's on MSNBC constantly. He goes from one news show to the next.

by Anonymousreply 77April 27, 2024 1:08 PM

I assume he's gay.

Smart as hell, too.

by Anonymousreply 1April 25, 2024 11:25 PM

He's just artistic and sensitive.

by Anonymousreply 2April 25, 2024 11:26 PM

He’s an idiot and his voice is like nails on a chalkboard. He needs to be kicked in the cunt for the effeminate way he pronounces “o” in words. Mary Prisspot.

by Anonymousreply 3April 25, 2024 11:29 PM

[quote] Smart as hell, too.

No, he’s not. He’s been corrected seven billion times.

by Anonymousreply 4April 25, 2024 11:29 PM

He’s married to Deborah M. Weissmann.

by Anonymousreply 5April 25, 2024 11:30 PM

According the Google, he is married - Andrew does seem a bit 'fay' but who cares! He's an encyclopedia of knowledge regarding the law and explains in great detail but understandable by the layman. I really enjoy his contributions and he sometimes puts a 'gossipy' spin on a particular situation. Suzanne Craig is another one I enjoy (she's usually on Deadline: Whitehouse).

by Anonymousreply 6April 25, 2024 11:31 PM

I love him. It never occurred to me that he might be married to a woman but it doesn't surprise me. He grew up on the UWS, he can be as gay as he wants to while remaining respectable in the community. There are a lot of smart, successful, married Jewish men who are barely straight and everyone knows it.

He's another Bronx Fieldston School graduate along with Sondheim, Robert Oppenheimer, Baba Wawa and Sofia Coppola.

by Anonymousreply 7April 25, 2024 11:39 PM

It would be great to see some examples of the eleventy billion times he's been wrong prosecuting Enron, 25 Gambinos a gaggle of Russians and Paul Manafort, just to take the piss.

by Anonymousreply 8April 25, 2024 11:46 PM

I still think he's gay. And smart too.

by Anonymousreply 11April 25, 2024 11:56 PM

I assumed he was gay. He’s very smart although is on TV too much.

by Anonymousreply 12April 26, 2024 12:06 AM

Looks like Andrew in drag.

by Anonymousreply 15April 26, 2024 12:15 AM

R14 = Ari Melber

by Anonymousreply 16April 26, 2024 12:15 AM

His nose was runny on MSNBC this afternoon. It was disgusting. Someone in the booth finally let him wipe his face, but while the camera was off him, you could hear him loudly blowing his nose! It was amateur hour and I felt so sorry for him that MSNBC could be so inept.

by Anonymousreply 17April 26, 2024 12:25 AM

I love Andrew, watching him on MSNBC. He makes me wish I'd studied law (with him).

Does anyone know if he's still teaching or practicing law? I can't imagine how he'd have the time with all of the hours he puts in on TV.

by Anonymousreply 18April 26, 2024 12:33 AM

What is that bizarre accent of his?

The cutesy affected pronunciation is so annoying.

by Anonymousreply 19April 26, 2024 12:37 AM

r13, I smell lavender

by Anonymousreply 20April 26, 2024 12:43 AM

His refined accent is very typical of highly educated Jewish men who grew up in The Bronx, like Bennett Cerf.

by Anonymousreply 21April 26, 2024 12:51 AM

R18, I think he's in a Practice with Neal Katyal. I like him, he and Neal both explain the law in layman's terms

by Anonymousreply 22April 26, 2024 12:54 AM

Neal Katyal is insanely sexy! He'd be so much fun in bed with his hairy chest and smirk.

by Anonymousreply 23April 26, 2024 12:56 AM

[quote]His refined accent is very typical of highly educated Jewish men who grew up in The Bronx, like Bennett Cerf.

R21 Bennett Cert didn't grow up in the Bronx.

And he didn't sound like a piss elegant sales bottom working at Bloomingdales fine China dinnerware department.

by Anonymousreply 24April 26, 2024 12:58 AM

[quote]He's very knowledgeable, and he's on MSNBC constantly. He goes from one news show to the next.

Well, OP, with THAT kind of evidence, need you ask if he's gay ? He seems to check all the boxes.

by Anonymousreply 25April 26, 2024 1:00 AM

Faye’s fey fay?!

by Anonymousreply 26April 26, 2024 1:01 AM

Wife teaches international human rights law at UNC so it must be a commuter marriage. She's not a dermatologist.

by Anonymousreply 27April 26, 2024 1:10 AM

Andrew Weissmann is at MSNBC day and night. He never sees this supposed wife.

by Anonymousreply 28April 26, 2024 1:22 AM

Jesus! Andrew Weissmann is *not* into you!

by Anonymousreply 29April 26, 2024 1:23 AM

I bet there are a dozen Debra Weismanns on the UWS. I alway think of Judy Gold's joke about the UWS, Starbucks, Jew store, Starbucks, Jew Store.

Or Jackie Hoffman's, We Have Jews in the Car.

Honey, if you're American, cut the crap.

by Anonymousreply 33April 26, 2024 2:38 AM

[quote]His refined accent is very typical of highly educated Jewish men who grew up in The Bronx

No, it's not.

by Anonymousreply 34April 26, 2024 2:38 AM

He’s wrong all the time. Most of the other pundits who predict that Trump will ever be held accountable or have to pay for his crimes are blowing smoke too.

by Anonymousreply 35April 26, 2024 3:04 AM

I spotted Andrew at Patti LuPone’s recent Carnegie Hall concert. 🤔

by Anonymousreply 36April 26, 2024 3:30 AM

He cheats at bridge for what it's worth.

by Anonymousreply 37April 26, 2024 3:33 AM

He was the lead attorney for Bob Mueller during the Mueller investigation. Quite the reputation as a bulldog; the Trump people were terrified that he'd be interrogating them.

by Anonymousreply 38April 26, 2024 3:37 AM

Not gay- Jewish.

by Anonymousreply 39April 26, 2024 3:46 AM

Not gay and grateful we’re on the same side-democracy!

by Anonymousreply 40April 26, 2024 4:03 AM

I like him and think he's smart too. But I was sure he was gay. He's really articulate and mildly fem. He threw me off.

by Anonymousreply 41April 26, 2024 4:09 AM

r19, Weissman has the classic Mid-Atlantic/Baltimore accent.

by Anonymousreply 42April 26, 2024 4:10 AM

He still teaches at NYU. His courses for this Spring Semester are 'Reading Group: Big Data's Promise and Perils' Spring 2024 and 'Criminal Procedure: the 4th and 5th Amendments and Policies.' Spring 2024.

He is not in a practice with Neal Katyal but he works closely with Ryan Goodman who also teaches at NYU. He just completed a book with Melissa Murray titled 'The Trump Indictments: The Historic Charging Documents with Commentary.'

I don't know how he has the time to do all he does as well as be a constant contributor to MSNBC.

It's possible that he is the gayest straight man we've ever come across.

And I would love to have dinner with him.

by Anonymousreply 43April 26, 2024 4:41 AM

No, r42. Maybe Philly/Balmer, but not north of that, where I live.

by Anonymousreply 44April 26, 2024 5:03 AM

his speech affect makes me want to jump off a thousand cliffs.

by Anonymousreply 45April 26, 2024 5:07 AM

There’s no such thing as a Mid - Atlantic Baltimore accent. What—like Katie Hepburn in The Wire?!

by Anonymousreply 46April 26, 2024 9:33 AM

Melissa Murray is a brilliant accomplished jurist and, unfortunately, an outspoken Meghan Markle fan. For such flawed judgment, she can never be considered for the Supreme Court.

by Anonymousreply 47April 26, 2024 12:18 PM

He’s a dead ringer for Percy Dovetonsils.

by Anonymousreply 48April 26, 2024 12:24 PM

Wait, R26 -- I don't think R6 "got"what you were getting at, still.

R6? The word is spelled "fey." Not "fay."

Now turn in your gay card.

by Anonymousreply 49April 26, 2024 12:31 PM

Dovetonsils was modeled after Truman Capote.

by Anonymousreply 50April 26, 2024 12:34 PM

Nope, r50.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 51April 26, 2024 12:42 PM

I realize bloggers and then the people who read and parroted them make a Capote/"Dovetonsils" connection, but Truman was not a poet.

I guess on second thought it's possible, as the alleged Kovacs parody is even written about in books. I just think 1950 was a bit early.

by Anonymousreply 52April 26, 2024 12:58 PM

He may teach at NYU but his student assistant does most of the work.

by Anonymousreply 53April 26, 2024 1:09 PM

Was Melissa Murray Andrew's student? I love her clothes and styling.

by Anonymousreply 54April 26, 2024 1:14 PM

r49 - Fay is a feminine name of French origin, meaning “fairy.” It is derived from the Old French word faie meaning “fairy,” coming from the Latin fata, which translates to “fate” or “destiny.” Fay has also conjured a selection of enchanting alternative spellings, including Fae, Faye, and Fey.

Potato / Patoto - regardless of the spelling, the connotation is the same. Thanks for playing!

by Anonymousreply 55April 26, 2024 2:45 PM

That would be "potatoe," r55.

by Anonymousreply 56April 26, 2024 3:14 PM

You used lower case fay. Don’t try to cover up your egregious error with some reference to an old French given name. You were busted —

by Anonymousreply 57April 26, 2024 3:18 PM

He and Madow are the best minds on cable news outlets. That’s what I care about and makes me tune in to pretty much only them.

by Anonymousreply 58April 26, 2024 3:19 PM

^ step away from MSNBC.

by Anonymousreply 59April 26, 2024 3:28 PM

R56 or - Potahto or Spuds or, as Ma Kettle would say "Taters".

R57 - you can Lump It! Hard and Fast. Your colon will thank you.

R58 - yes, Rachel and Andrew are top notch. Also worth a mention is Harry Litman who is often on Deadline: Whitehouse.

by Anonymousreply 60April 26, 2024 3:30 PM

R69 types his “comebacks” like Gerg02116

by Anonymousreply 61April 26, 2024 3:32 PM

R60 types his “comebacks” like Gerg02116

by Anonymousreply 62April 26, 2024 3:32 PM

[quote]It's possible that he is the gayest straight man we've ever come across.

I beg your pardon.

by Anonymousreply 63April 26, 2024 3:48 PM

R60, You didn't get it.

by Anonymousreply 64April 26, 2024 4:59 PM

[quote]There’s no such thing as a Mid - Atlantic Baltimore accent.

There certainly is. "Mid-Atlantic" means two things, it refers to the mid-Atlantic states, not just the old Hollywood mid-Atlantic, meaning in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean between the US and Europe.

by Anonymousreply 65April 27, 2024 1:44 AM

R65 What?

There is no such thing as a "Mid-Atlantic State" accent.

Delaware, DC, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or West Virginia....there is a world of difference between them.

Collins Dictionary: "If you describe someone's accent as mid-Atlantic, you mean that it is a mixture of British and American accents."

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 66April 27, 2024 2:14 AM

R75 when discussing an accent it has only one meaning: the old Hollywood acquired voice.

The mid-Atlantic states do not, nor have they ever, had a separate designation for a singular or related identifiable accent. Understand? Baltimore is not Philly is not Jersey is not northern Virginia. No linguist would group those accents in a fashion similar to NE, midwestern or southwestern.

by Anonymousreply 67April 27, 2024 2:18 AM

That was for R65^

R66 thank you for beating me to the punch and calling out R65 for their lame post.

by Anonymousreply 68April 27, 2024 2:19 AM

[quote] I beg your pardon

I never promised you a rose garden.

by Anonymousreply 69April 27, 2024 2:32 AM

I'm a fan. He's faggy but I don't think he's gay. Chalk me up as a fan and someone else who thinks he is smart as hell. Funny and bitchy to boot. Would love to have him at a dinner party along with Mary McCallum, his WASP-y co-host on the Prosecuting Donald Trump podcast. He also wears great looking, well knotted ties, has perfectly pressed shirt collars and nicely tailored jackets that fit well in the shoulders. I appreciate his laying out complex legal procedure in laymen's terms.

by Anonymousreply 70April 27, 2024 4:23 AM

He’s a crumb bum!

by Anonymousreply 71April 27, 2024 4:30 AM

I bet he's hysterical after a couple of cocktails

by Anonymousreply 72April 27, 2024 12:36 PM

I'm sorry people have to waste their high IQs on shit like Trump.

by Anonymousreply 73April 27, 2024 12:41 PM

It's Mary McCord

by Anonymousreply 74April 27, 2024 12:53 PM
